  1. I have the original pressing. Is anyone interested in paying me shitloads of money for it?
  2. If hoarding records is a mental disorder than I am fucked. Seriously though, I think variant completists have issues. Also, it drives me NUTS that I have all the Mozaic Miles Davis box sets EXCEPT the Bitches Brew one because I couldn't afford it and no one would get it for me for Christmas because of the title. It was $100 and now it goes for $400-$500 on ebay. I don't know, maybe I do have issues.
  3. "That reminds me of an incredibly long story..."
  4. i humbly accept. I will second if such pomp is necessary.
  5. I'm super excited for this. I like Higgs' solo stuff but I'm stoked to hear him back with a band. It's on Thrill Jockey btw.
  6. Then, tonight, I passed a sign by the mall that said some new store was coming, Winter 2008. WTF is going on.?
  7. Aw man, how the hell are we going to get anything reviewed in AP now?!?! Shhhh. Now all the editors I've worked for know you've had a man on the inside all along.
  8. I review this more than a month ago and I've still never received the promo. I have a stream, but it's not the same of course.
  9. Nice job and of course the album is fucking killer. This will be my bike ride soundtrack for the next couple of months I'm sure. This also happens to be the very last record I'm reviewing (out in the next issue of AP). I am retiring from journalism to pursue other ventures. This was a great album to go out on.
  10. I think Moltov will probably return as some sort of half cyborg thing, maybe on Professor Impossible and Phantom Limb's little guild. But I kind of hope I'm wrong. The killoffs are a good way to wrap up loose ends of tangential side stories. I've had enough of that one honestly. Anyway, loved the finale. Always bittersweet though since it'll be forever before new episodes are on again.
  11. I just got a shipping notification that says the package was shipped on June 11, 2008. Thought that was kind of odd.
  12. you are so lucky to live in an area with a thriving music scene. wilmington, delaware here...there's the spinto band who i saw a few times at this hole in the wall coffee shop before they went on mtv2. other than that, i just look to the philly scene...used to really dig the teeth from over there. Dude, I can't believe you are complaining. Philly is one of the best music cities in the country. My bands played all over Del.-Philly when I lived there. And sometimes you've got to make things happen. I know tons of people in that area that are in rad bands. Go see some of them, start a band, throw a brick.
  13. Also, I don't care how "punk" you think you are, if you are in a band that has a record deal of any kind you NEED a good lawyer and a contract. The band here should have built some of this into their contract and it would have been easy to do. They should blame THEIR record label for granting the rights if they are going to blame anyone. Or how about people actually accept blame for their own mistakes, like not doing what was necessary to make sure they controlled the rights to their music.
  14. Business is business. If they don't own the rights to the record they have no business complaining. Also, they can be sued for defamation of character if they keep up the shit talking.
  15. The funny thing about vinyl is I originally bought records back in the day because they were the cheapest option. Tapes were like $10, CDs when they came out were like $15 or $20, but records were consistently about $8. Of course the sound quality played a part, but price really drove the decision. Now I'm a collector as much as a listener, and I'm stuck with the higher prices. I personally will take black every time when it's offered, but don't mind people making or buying colored stuff. Whatever floats your boat. I just like to have records to listen to, not trade, sell, admire or whatever. Again though, do as you wish.
  16. Be glad you live in Wilmington, I live in Dover and I'm sure it's waay worse. at the very least my drive to philly is an extra 40 minutes! where are said illest punks? Who knows. I haven't lived there for 12 years. And i grew up in Dover, so trust me I get it. sneaking out to catch the train into philly or DC to go see bands. Nearly dying driving back from Baltimore in the middle of the night trying to get home before my parents woke up. And just the general hell of lower/slower Delaware. At least we had punk shows when I was a kid. I saw COC, shudder to think and a bunch of other bands at the Felton Roller Rink back in the day.
  17. Bummed I didn't get both versions. If anyone got an extra colored I'd like to get it from you.
  18. I have no idea what this means, but I hope you get this record. It's very good.
  19. I loved their first album then never heard anything else. I may have to get this.
  20. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO STOKED! Seriously, this is the best hardcore record I've heard in ages.
  21. You people suck. Records aren't free. Just be rich like me.
  22. I'm from Delaware: Jade Tree Boy Sets Fire Walleye The Kill Quota Stormwatch Bad Luck 13 Riot Extravaganza Zen Geurrilla DuPont Best beaches on the East Coast convenient drive to DC, Philly, Baltimore, NYC And the illest punks in the world Notice I didn't mention George Thorogood or our beloved vice president. That's because I hate them and they suck.
