Finally, can't wait to queue up for my copy of Aqua's Aquarium. This is what RSD is about!
-
Pre-ordered and this single has got me super excited. AND can not wait for him to tour, caught him and the band at Primavera and was completely blown away, they put on such a great show.

Hyper Light Drifter boxset update in a TL;DR format:
QuoteThe outer shell suffers from discoloration, an ill-centered image and oddly, artwork that was altered AFTER the proofing stage… … … we're taking matters into our own hands, and have already implemented a solution that will take approx. 3-4 weeks to complete.
The vinyl is lovely... and sounds GREAT!
The core structure of the package is classy as hell!I guess all good from my front since I only pre-ordered a few weeks back, but can imagine this push back is dragging for everyone who ordered months and months ago. The packaging sounds swish though.

Still up in rumours, but Hudson Mohawke's Watch Dogs 2 OST is getting a limited, 700 indies only pressing for RSD. That'd be great if it's true since it's fantastic, I haven't even played the game but the music is solid.

Was this album cover made in MS Word?

Would love some Mansun reissues (since it's 20 years since AOTGL was released), buuuutt probably won't happen. Would grab that Hudson Mohawk OST tho.

(Sorry not Gas releated) I've been really digging the latest Heinali recently: https://injazerorecords.bandcamp.com/album/anthem-2 - sort of classic/electronic ambient stuff. Love the RED pressing too.

you should never touch the record while the platter is still spinning.
Subjective to if you have slipmats and hammer fingers I s'pose, else, same thing if you stop the platter, grab the sides of the record and gently wiggle back and forth and up. Don't stop wiggle wiggle.
-
I've never owned a flexi, but my Fez LPs are super tight to the spindle (they won't come off easily). Turn on the platter spinning and gently lift the record up and off; There'll be a little bit of bend, but it'll slide right on off super easy.

So what's everyone's opinion on iam8bit? Just ordered that Hyper Light Drifter boxset then read up their Facebook… ooof, people are angry!

It's in. My splatter turned out a bit more subtle than the above and looks delightful in hand (will say the darker bits aren't that dark, just kinda hard to photograph). I take back my judgey ways! Sadly can't spin it for a while as all my stuff's packed away, so I'll just have to shred on those sweet picks!

This is a really great Bastille cover.

Given this a listen a bunch of times and still at loss to explain how much I love this album; Maybe it's the mood or the underlying chill throughout? Dunno! Some immediate favourites are Rebecca (simply because coming out of Tough Guy into that song is like a needed release) and The Moth & The Flame. Anyway, got me shipping notification, so will spin the hell out of this when it arrives next.

Just double checked and my copy is the 2012 XL pressing, which does have original samples there. Probably already said, but my thinking is all UK/EU copies are fine (from XL Recordings), US and Australia get a butchered Frontier Psychiatrist.
-
That there looks like a Dansette I've got (sadly the platter broke) which changes up to a whopping 6 records! I think you can pick them up fairly cheap on eBay but they're super old now.
-
Dang. Shall give my EU 2016 repress a spin when I'm home and will let you know if the original samples are there. Fairly certain they are though last time I heard. Thanks for linking the versions above too.
-
Might miss the intheclouds little touches to the release (grabbed the screen print last time) but that splatter looks lush. Nabbed from US store, it's the same cost from the EU distro whoms checkout I couldn't get to work.

No way. I think this public toilet diarrhoea splatter variant is far superior to the black.

Can't believe that Greg Haines LP boxset sold out the moment I went to order it. Typical!
-
Those guitar picks are vital and I'm looking forward to accidentally losing them.

Spice Girls. An utter classic!

Just finished my first listen and the difference in quality from Life In Cycles to No Clearance is staggering. Love the production on this far more than LiC, this is clean and full of energy, which suits the band's music as it's packed with lots of chill that just blow up into awesome moments. But these moments are not as intense as LiC, not that it's a bad thing, they've progressed and found better ways to make songs feel huge without relying on something tried, test and typical. Definitely at their tightest on this record too, absolutely faultless. Can't wait for my splatter to arrive
