  1. What I'm wondering is how many sites actually got the message that they were pulling it. Or if the distributors have an option to pull it due to moral decisions. Whatever it is doesn't make any sense to send out that message
  2. Wal-Mart, it was sent via FedEx and it looks like it's en route. Label was created Shepherdsville, KY US and is in transit going thru LOUISVILLE, KY. Looks legit. A lot of my records begin their destination from there
  3. https://alonerecordsshop.com/products/transilience-nervesaw-lp-clear https://alone-records.bandcamp.com/album/nervesaw 'Nervesaw' is the first EP by American band Transilience, and the comeback release after many years of absencefrom the scene. Transilience were originally formed in 1988, in Reston, Virginia, and their debut album 'Mouthful Of Buildings' was released in 1989. Their very particular brand of thrash metal was hailed at the time as innovative and original, and that record remains a fresh listen to this day. Tracklist: 01. Cut The Mountain 3:45 02. Pandemic Scale 3:23 03. Octomom 1:43 04. Seven Samurai 3:33 You can hear the new single on the bandcamp link. Or just watch the video
  4. A soft brush can usually handle any dust that settles on a vinyl record. But how can listeners deal with more tenacious dirt and grime? The Library of Congress shares a recipe for a cleaning solution of 2 mL of Dow Chemical’s Tergitol 15-S-7 in 4 L of deionized water. C&EN spoke with Paula Cameron, a technical service manager with Dow, to learn about the chemistry that helps the Tergitol surfactant get into—and out of—the groove. Molecules in Tergitol 15-S-7 possess hydrophobic hydrocarbon chains that are between 11 and 15 carbon atoms long. The S means it’s a secondary alcohol, so there’s a hydroxyl jutting from the midsection of the hydrocarbon chain to connect it to a hydrophilic chain of repeating ethylene oxide units. Finally, the 7 is a measure of how many moles of ethylene oxide are in the surfactant. The greater the number, the more water-soluble the compound is. Seven is squarely in the water-soluble category, Cameron says. Furthermore, she adds, the surfactant doesn’t become viscous or gel-like when mixed with water. The end result is a mild, fast-rinsing surfactant that can get in and out of grooves quickly, Cameron explains. The bad news for vinyl audiophiles who might want to try this at home is that Dow typically doesn’t sell surfactants directly to consumers. Their customers are generally companies who make cleaning products. Sadly Cameron doesn’t know of a consumer product that has similar properties. And the Library of Congress doesn’t guarantee this solution will satisfy all users. Sometimes googling your questions is better than going to every forum under the sun and getting people to give smart answers. But what do I know...😕
  5. All clues from all the websites selling it leads me to believe that it's a repress of the 2012 Back To Black pressing. UPC/EAN: 0600753385647 Tower Records Barnes and Nobles Take that with a grain of salt
  6. Soooo, I'm getting a delivery date of August 11th. Does anyone else have a confirmation date?
  7. I can't believe I missed this!!!!! I knew that they were reissueing their catalog but it was gonna be a CD reissue campaign thru some Chinese label. I guess they found something better... Hopefully these get a wider release. Absolutely love these guys. Can't wait to hear the new shit tho! https://obliveon.band/fr/home/
  8. I liked the Rocktober 2017 Lucy/Candlebox split that was reissued back in 2017. Pretty good pressing IMO. The only Candlebox really I liked anyway. But I would like them as separate albums tho
  9. Yeah it was pretty low key. I think Wal-Mart pretty much killed any hype for this. Also their limited box set. Which are both pretty ubiquitous...
  10. Ok so I'll answer myselflol. Yup lives up to the hype both bad and good. Can't help but think if I'd chosen to go with Black instead of orange it would've made a difference. But also the difference between a Mexican pressing over a euro. I guess I chose the euro pressing over a Mexican rather than an orange variant over a black. Even though I don't know anything about the Mexican plants. Also I do believe the reason why some of these are warped is because of the booklet that comes along with the Record. It's a bit smaller than the disc itself. That mixed with the tightness of the of the jacket... Anyways, anyone want to talk about the latest blue notes 💙 Can't wait for that Cecil Taylor.
  11. Was just curious if anyone is ordering the John Coltrane with Eric Dolphy: Evenings at the Village Gate here: https://jazz.centerstagestore.com/products/john-coltrane-with-eric-dolphy-evenings-at-the-village-gate-impulse-orange-vinyl-2lp From what I'm reading, is not a very good pressing. The orange that i listed above is euro as well as a black, and the US black pressing is from Mexico? But I've heard some songs and I'm really impressed. These are two of my favorite classic jazz artists. Topps. Couldn't help myself. Anyways, would anyone comment on the quality if you've made the purchase in any of the variants? Thx
  12. Just listened to my copy yesterday. Clean pressing. A simple reissue and attention to pressing quality is all I ask for. I also like the fact that this anniversary reissue was nothing complicated.
  13. Hmm not sure. I've seen that before but haven't ever tried myself. BTW, I'm receiving both Cavaleras today. I immediately ordered when you posted that news...
  14. It's hard to imagine that there would be such a mess after you leave. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family, @jhulud Peace brother

  17. Not sure if you are aware of the DunningKruger effect, but most people who begin their vinyl journey could be summed up in this graph here. Confidence is really high when beginning this hobby. But once you begin to learn the ins and outs of the hobby, you enter the "valley of despair". So, you start learning and realize that that vinyl isn't as simple as you were led to believe(mostly because of the corporate takeover- but also fads). It used to be really easy and simple and cheap back in the day. But I digress. If you're serious, just keep at it. If you love music it can be very rewarding. But if you are following fads or the latest tic tac/Instatrash thing, you will be very disappointed. Anyways, my 2cents.
