  1. OK, this has been resolved for me, I have a color LP set on order. Awesome.
  2. Mine is due Thursday. I would be happy with an amalgam of the two lists posted thus far, Human Remains and Cephalic Carnage in particular, but also Coldworker, Hope Drone, Phobia, Disrupt, Buried Inside, Magrudergrind , Ecstatic Vision and Serpentine Path are all bands I'm unfamiliar with but sound interesting. Either of those 7ins sound good to me too. Talking about Death, Mastodon, etc., I'll be surprised if any of these bigger "names" show up in these. Would be awesome if they did, but I, for one, am keeping my expectations low.
  3. Yeah, I seemingly got an order through for the color LP+7" set, including a charge to my credit card, BUT I have received zero order confirmation emails and this order in my account history simply says "-". They've been notified and others on their Twitter feed have been mentioning this as well, so I'm gonna be patient and see what happens before seeking remedy.
  4. New song is super good. Looking very forward to this record. I wonder if, since it seems we're gonna get a more conventional release strategy compared to SoI, there are going to be any unusual limited variants. Going by Discogs listings, the band and/or those they surround themselves with don't seem to historically be hip to this idea (at least for their official releases). Maybe they have their collective ears to the ground? Changing gears: I have to defend No Line On The Horizon. I think that "Get On Your Boots" being the first single colored people's perception of the record as a whole. The album as a whole is actually a relatively unusual and challenging listen from this band, for the most part, which I have high appreciation for personally. I do agree with dan_smee that this song-as well as "Stand Up Comedy" are B-sides at best, but I disagree that "I'll Go Crazy..." is disposable. It's a solid pop single that retains the more atmospheric and experimental qualities from the more out there tracks. This should have been the first single for people to base their impressions on. I always love when bands put their sound in a blender, so I respect things like "Unknown Caller", "FEZ-Being Born" and "White As Snow". And in addition to the songs dan_smee mentioned, "Magnificent" and "Breathe" are also noteworthy rock tracks. Top to bottom, I personally highly rate this record. I can do without "Get On Your Boots" and "Stand Up Comedy", but I don't necessarily feel they kill the flow of the album as a whole work. Its far from their worst album-that dubious honor goes to October.
  5. "ep" in this case is short for "episode" in Adam Scott Aukerman parlance and is meant as "podcast episode" from said podcast where all the jokes in this thread are pilfered from. It it does not mean "EP" as in "extended play" as in a short album.
  6. As an alternate recommendation, I use the SLP13133 from Bags Unlimited. It comfortably fits The Fragile, Deviations, Ghosts 1-4, as well as the recent "Hope Collection" reissue of Angels & Airwaves' The Love Album Parts 1 & 2, which two 2lp jackets inside a slip cover. https://www.bagsunlimited.com/product/6310/font-colorred180-gramfont-record-jacket-sleeve
  7. I am very much looking forward to this-I also thought Song Of Innocence was excellent (I think this record was very unfairly judged due to the release strategy over the actual musical content) and between this clip and the live clips of a different new song they've introduced on this last tour (name escapes me at the moment), I have pretty high hopes. Slight derailment: as I stated in the Atomic Bomb reissue thread-I wish the 90's/00's stuff get reissued sooner than later. The Atomic Bomb reissue by most accounts was a well done reproduction of the OG, and I'd rather pay those prices over OG prices on something like Achtung Baby or Pop if the quality is similar. YES. Although, they did do a Joshua Tree Tour ep back in June (where they played the aforementioned live clip of one of the new songs). It was a good ep-a great ep.
  8. I put down for a 7+7" last night. My first grab bag ever. As I understand it, the clear variants are something of a "private press"-only 100 exist per title. So it stands to reason that these are the rarest variants of any given recent Relapse title. That might mean that I might not get anything "good" or something from a "name" band (however defined, for each term), but at an average of $8.27 per title, it's still a steal, a good way to try new music, and-if I absolutely hate something-has assumed trade or resale value. Ill post my contents when it arrives.
  9. Okay, my reissues and NTAE showed up a half hour ago. They showed up in excellent condition and I am wrapping up a first listen of Broken right now (which I was unaware was a single sided LP, but that's on me for not doing the research as these-for the most part-appear to be fairly faithful original issue duplicates in terms of packaging and presentation) and it sounds outstanding. Looking very forward to hearing the rest. Saying nothing of the general delay in production of these, I guess I've been lucky with this whole Sandbag thing, relatively speaking. The worst I've got in three NIN related orders with them was a slight corner bend on Deviations and the recent tomfoolery regarding the tracking number for these as others have explained. All in all, I'm glad it's over (for now) and am stoked to finally have these after all that went down. Now to do it all over again for the next set of reissues and AV.
  10. Thanks for replying-I just got my shipping notice for these items. The email is indicating all four-NTAE and three reissues. I setup text alerts for the tracking number so I don't have to actually think about it-I'll let the info come to me. I only felt compelled to ask in the first place because of all the other weirdness surrounding these releases. I suppose I'm lucky in that my other two orders-one for Ghosts 1-4 and HM and a second one for Deviations, both with Sandbag-went off without a hitch, save for the oddity of not getting a shipping notice for Deviations and simply having it show up on my doorstep. Sounds like some of you guys have been put through the ringer.
  11. Just to make sure I understand correctly, as so many different things have been said on this topic: If I pre-ordered NTAE+reissues when they first went live in/around Dec. 2016 and did NOT cancel/re-order when the switch to Sandbag happened, my order will still be fulfilled but no shipping notice will go out? Regardless of the answer, what exquisite chaos...
  12. Despite all the horror stories here, I went ahead and ordered Deviations when the inventory showed less than 10 copies. I paid the $2 extra for 2 day FedEx, and sure enough, it was here in 2 days. No shipping notice, though. My copy came in a multi LP form fitting box, a box seemingly designed to ship 2-3 LPs in, with bubble wrap on each side (although I'm sure Trent would bemoan the use of ULine boxes, but that;s an entirely different discussion). One of the corners of the jacket was ever so slightly bent. I have to think that it's because of the shrinkwrap and not the shipping materials. The records themselves are pristine. Overall, I'm satisfied with this purchase and am very much looking forward to spinning this. Yeah, it was expensive, but yolo or something. Either I got lucky, or maybe this Sandbag got their act together to a degree. Let's see if that carries over when the definitive remasters and NTAE starts shipping. I have a feeling those are just gonna appear out of nowhere at my doorstep.
  13. Since people are asking, I did get a shipping notice from Bindrune for this last night. Heads up.
  14. Thanks, yeah, I believe you to be right, I guess I'm just a little hesitant to spend the cash and waste my 20% code if these do happen to get reissued "definitively" in 2018 or something.
  15. Regarding the Roads To The North and Autumn Eternal represses, here's an interview with Marty from Bindrune (Panopticon's label) done in March of this year. The response to the final question is an outline on the planned label release schedule for this year, of which those represses are listed (among many other cool impeding releases). That said, again, this interview was conducted in March. Since then, he's gone through some serious family stuff, which makes it obvious that the label is likely forced to slow down a bit (as is reasonable given the circumstances). So it might be a bit before it actually comes to fruition. Side note: I'd love for Bindrune to do a Revisions Of The Past "part 2", covering the self titled debut and Collapse. Collapse, in particular, is an outstanding underrated record.
  16. About the Definitive Vinyl series: While I'm waiting for my Broken, The Downward Spiral, and The Fragile to arrive, as well as With Teeth, Year Zero, and The Slip to go on sale, has anything ever been said about whether Pretty Hate Machine, Ghosts 1-4, and Hesitation Marks will be remastered for this series? I haven't seen anything useful to this effect in this thread or elsewhere online, and based on what's being sold in the store I would guess not, so I suppose I'm just trying to see if I've missed anything anywhere.
  17. I know this comes across as a cheesy gimmick, but I actually think this is a fine idea. For now, I'm very behind this. I mean, the Warner Music catalog goes deep. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Warner_Music_Group_labels Without digging into each sub-label's catalog, I'd be willing to bet that there's probably between 20-50 "must have" releases somewhere in there for any given user on this board. There's so much stuff that either hasn't had a vinyl pressing for a long while, or has never been pressed on vinyl at all. Here's an example of mine: Harvey Danger-King James Version which was released by Sire which is owned by Warner. Another example: the catalog of The Corrs (don't savage me on this-it's really well done pop music), all of which were released on 143, Lava, Atlantic, Eastwest, or Atlantic (depending on the territory), all of which are Warner labels. If there's even a chance that any of these get pressed, I'm all for this concept. I'm probably going to put down for Secret Machines. I somehow completely missed the boat on these guys the first time around but this thread diverted my attention to them. I checked the album in question on YouTube and it's right up my alley. I think this could be a good concept overall, provided the pricing doesn't get out of hand.
  18. Got mine via Eihwaz. Appears to be sold out via the band. Eihwaz and Bindrune both still have them, as of this writing. I was on high alert for this, as Marty Worm did give me the heads up that this was imminent and that the limitation would be extreme when I was chatting with him about something else. I own everything Bindrune and Eihwaz have released to date, so there's no way I'd miss this too. They've only put out a small handful of releases I didn't care for, but everything else these labels have put out are of the utmost quality. Plus, the pedigree of the members involved (members of Nechochwen, Unwlling Flesh, Obsequaie, Infirmary) pretty much guarantees excellence. These label's releases are pretty much the only things I buy on CD these days.
  19. I'm partial to "Great Bits" and "Two's Clues" myself. If what you're implying is true, then awesome. They should just do this for the remaining 90s and 00s albums-no deluxe editions, no remastering, just get them back in circulation as they were. Bro, how about some fucking t-shirts?
  20. I ponied up via Amazon because this is good rock n roll, uhhhhh, music. I've basically resigned myself to give up the ghost on hunting down OG copes of the 90s-00s records (I've got OGs of the 80s stuff and Innocence). Even if I did find legit copies, it's common knowledge just how much they go for, and that surpasses my personal max splurge budget of $75 on a single rare record. A local record store actually had an OG Achtuuung. BABY! around that price last year and I slept on and subsequently lost out on it. I'm hoping this reissue is simply a replica of the OG-not a remaster expanded onto 2LPs (that way I can feel like I have an OG hahaha). I mean, I'll take whatever it is I suppose, but that's how I'd prefer it. I'd also love to get me hand on Pop. Not a remix, I think the original audio is totally fine (and that this is a brutally underrated record). Now from what I've last heard on Songs Of Experience, they are supposedly re-evaluating the lyrical content to see if the message they want to get across is now relevant in a post-Trump/Brexit world. That, and they might take the time to add new songs to it. Allegedly happening this year, though. http://www.rollingstone.com/music/features/the-edge-breaks-down-u2s-upcoming-joshua-tree-tour-w459473 YES. The "Co." being Larry Mullen Sr.'s Son and Adam Clay-2000-Pounds, naturally. YES.
  21. Got my dark red today, it hits the platter tomorrow. I'm looking forward to it, as Reports is one of the best albums I've ever heard in recent years. I've listened to only a few moments "The Queen's Constellation" and nothing more, so as to keep the initial listen a fresh as possible. The die cut gatefold is a nice feature , I suppose. It does look awesome, but I am on the fence on whether it is superfluous or not. The red wax looks almost like dark red wine. Between that and the gatefold, they sure went all in on the visual aesthetic-let's see if the music holds up. No mp3 voucher? Boo!!!
  22. Long time lurker, first time poster, blah, blah, blah. Ordered the full set, got mine on Tuesday. Here are my observations: Right off the bat, based on information available on Discogs, We Don't Need To Whisper and I-Empire are the SRC pressings from 2015 and 2016 (SRC056 and SRC066, respectively) simply with a slipcase placed over them to fit the aesthetic theme of this series. Compared to all the other records in this set, these two albums are more of an opaque clear rather than transparent clear, and the jackets/labels have the SRC logo and catalog info on them. They match the info on these two Discogs listings to a "T", sans the slipcase: https://www.discogs.com/Angels-Airwaves-We-Dont-Need-To-Whisper/release/7195858 https://www.discogs.com/Angels-Airwaves-I-Empire/release/8069976 This does not bother me personally, as I didn't buy those versions at that time, and I have no qualms about the sound quality either. I could, however, see how others might perceive this as a rip off of sorts. As for the rest: Love 1 & 2-No exact match on Discogs. All 4 LPs are clear and I can see no variant listed there indicating such. It does closely match some other prior pressings lusted on Discogs in that side H is etched. No SRC markings, would not surprise me if this is a new TTS pressing for this series. Interestingly, it is packaged as two separate 2LP jackets within the slipcase rather than a box or one singular package. Stomping The Phantom Brake Pedal-Seems to exactly match this variant on Discogs ( https://www.discogs.com/Angels-Airwaves-Stomping-The-Phantom-Brake-Pedal/release/6472357 ), but otherwise has no SRC markings anywhere. Would not surprise me if this is a new TTS pressing for this series. The Dream Walker-No exact match on Discogs. Seems to be a new press for this series. Of Nightmares-Discogs lists this version as a new pressing for 2017, apparently first time on vinyl. Chasing Shadows-Discogs lists this version as a new pressing variant for 2017. So you get two releases in this bundle that are certainly repackages of prior presses, two that are ambiguous, and three that appear to be fresh pressings. Again, none of this bothers me personally, as these are the first variants of any of these albums I've purchased. Other observations: I've only had a chance to spin We Don't Need To Whisper and I-Empire in full and am halfway through Love 1. No complaints about sound quality whatsoever. My package came from USPS with a corner fully dented, but mercifully none of the records or album packaging were damaged. My only gripe is the die cut AVA logo on the slipcases. It makes adding polysleeves a little annoying. If I slide the polysleeve without thinking abut it, I get it caught up as the die cuts are not connected. I have to be overtly mindful of the die cuts when putting the polysleeves on. A minor annoyance at its worst. All in all, I'm pretty happy with this purchase. These are some of my favorite albums and to get them in one shot was very appealing to me.
