  1. About a half hour ago there were 7 copies left. Against my better judgment, I put down for one. It's sold out now. Crazy. I was unaware of what this was until I came upon this thread. I streamed it on Bandcamp and I found it to be a really, really interesting and bizarre audio experiment/collage. I don't know if I'd call it great music per se (given the fact that it's not technically original music), but through the lens of "art project", it holds up as a highly creative listen. I don't follow meme culture so I am listening out of that context. $28 shipped isn't terrible. I don't ever look at records as "investments", but if I find that this stops resonating with me over the years, it'll likely have decent resale value given the lore surrounding it. I figured, I was patient for over a year with the Blood Music Emperor box set, I was patient for over a year for the NIN reissues, I can be patient for a few weeks, possibly months for this. This board definitely hasn't helped me with my impulsive spending behavior
  2. I had no aspirations to buy a physical version of this album twice (already own the red of the original album), but this price as a prime member sealed it for me. I would've paid at least this for the 2nd LP had it hypothetically been released as a stand alone album, so this was a total no-brainer.
  3. Yeah, standard edition for me. Not only that, not even gonna bother pre-ordering. My local shop is almost always reliable for getting the standard edition new releases by big name bands. There's nothing that's been posted thus far that would suggest the standard 2LP is only available directly from the bands webshop. As such, I'm probably good to go at my local shop.
  4. I actually did email you a week ago in reply to the original email containing the download that came from your "sales" address. But honestly, I wouldn't sweat it at this point. I don't mind paying into the artist's Bandcamp for a download because this was such a reasonably priced limited LP that even if you bundle both costs together-and that is taking the EUR to USD conversion at the artist's Bandcamp as well as your shipping costs into consideration-I still end up paying less than a lot of limited LPs I've splurged on in the past. No worries. At base level, an LP is what I paid for and an LP is what I got.
  5. Best verbal description: mine was blood red/crimson with primarily black and grey marbling, and some slight baby blue marbling as well. I did snap a shot, but I don't have and am not gonna bother with registering with a 3rd party hosting site at this time (kind of silly that posting pics functions this was in 2017). Maybe I'll tweet it at you or something. Interestingly enough, I received two jackets, and they appear to be identical (neither one appears to be the limited silk screened jacket variant). My download still does not work. 7zip is kind of a useless file format-I used two 7zip extractors (Zipeg on Mac and 7Z Opener on Windows) and can see the WAV files, but neither program can extract them. No biggie I suppose, I'll eventually buy the digital version from Prott's Bandcamp (I prefer MP3 320 for digital music anyhow), as I did with his back catalog. All that said, I cannot wait to spin this! I dug into his back catalog in advance of the LP arriving and this is some tremendous, emotionally evocative music!
  6. Figured it was worth mentioning that I did get a partial refund, totally unsolicited. I ordered the 2 album bundle on Friday at $45 before shipping, and even though the $21 shipping stings a bit, I figured I've spend $33 on single album releases before (similar sentiment to what kannibal expressed above). On Saturday they issued a refund of $3, bringing the base level cost to $42. I guess this was some sort of compensation for the bundle being higher priced than the two individual albums ordered separately ($22 each IIRC). I know the bundle basically exists to get something of a "break" on shipping, as I believe it was stated that shipping on a per record individual basis was more expensive cumulatively than shipping on the bundle. Still somewhat pricey, but I suppose it was cool of them to take the initiative to incentivize ordering the bundle by making the base per album cost slightly cheaper, even though I never asked them to make this adjustment.
  7. $21 (!) shipping if one orders the bundle that includes both albums.
  8. Battle Born is awesome. WAY better than this record. WAY better than Day & Age. Not better than Hot Fuss. For the most part, it's better than Sam's Town, too (my mood on any given day dictates this).
  9. Solid album. Gets off to a completely terrible start with the title track and "The Man" (easily tied with "Joy Ride" as their worst all time song), but it picks up pretty quickly right after that. And yeah, the writing is on the wall with this lineup stuff, at least as far as Keuning goes. Aside from not touring, not appearing in any press photos, not appearing in any music videos, and not appearing in any of the sleeve photos, the credits are very specific as to who played what on what song, revealing that he only played on 5 of the 10 songs ("The Man", "Rut", Life To Come", "Tyson Vs Douglas", and "Have All The Songs Been Written?") and is only credited as a writer on "Rut". It's notable that Jackknife Lee is credited as a guitarist on all songs. Fairly obvious that Keuning has one foot out the door, which doesn't necessarily bother me personally, as I've never been an "original lineup" purist with the vast majority of bands I enjoy.
  10. Got my golden mead 2LP yesterday. The golden mead color looks awesome and the jacket also looks excellent and is full of visual detail. I'm three sides into my first listen and it sounds awesome too (sonically speaking). Not their best work (that's Black Cascade for my money), but very solid overall. "Angrboda" stands out as the best cut on here by far. I will say this: I am only clicking with Celestial Linage now despite having and listening to it repeatedly since its release in 2011, so after a few listens over time this might reveal itself as something special as well. My only (admittedly minor) gripe is that at 42 minutes this did not need to be a double LP. You can sell it all you want as an "audiophile pressing cut at 45", but I'd rather pay single LP price for the record cut at 33 on a single LP. I mean, neither track on either side of disc 1 cracks 10 minutes, to the point where side two is 8 and a half minutes. Seems almost wasteful. Overall though, very good pressing of a very good album.
  11. Man, I feel almost compelled to offer you a trade of anything from my haul for this Nasum record. This and two Amorphis records? I really got the shit end of this grab bag deal hahaha. It might be, but my listen through of Elemetary did nothing to pique my interest in this band going forward.
  12. @allenh Thanks for taking the time to reply. Gives me a clearer perspective.
  13. So, I did get my download over the weekend. Numero, despite being inundated, did a fine job getting (at least) my order up to speed. I'm very stoked to get my set in November.
  14. Just finished up with listening to all from my grab bag and here are the results: Suffocation, Disrupt, Steve Moore, and Agenda Of Swine are all keepers. These are goners as they don't appeal to me: Skinless-Only The Ruthless Remain (much better than I ever remembered Skinless being, but still does not appeal to me) The End-Elementary Today Is The Day-Willpower Coliseum/Young Widows-Split 7" I'm probably gonna take these to my local record shop as I have a rapport with the owner and they're very fair and above board about trade in value. Not bad for $50 for 7.5 records-4 keepers and decent trade value on the rest.
  15. Greetings, I have a question for the board, and it's mainly a curiosity on how others view this particular thing that I'm going back and forth on in my mind. I know there's no "right" way to do things and it's all a matter of personal taste-I'm simply trying to get a feel for how others might view this. I have my turntable going into my receiver, which has a five speaker+woofer setup (which I use for playback of movies/TVs/5.1 audio). On each of the receiver's channel (e.g. AV, HDMI, etc.), I have the option for profiles, which covers speaker configuration on a channel by channel basis. For those that run a similar setup, how important is it to you to have the rear surround speakers disabled for vinyl playback? I obviously want to keep them for the 5.1 HIDMI channel, and for the Bluetooth channel (where I playback digital music from my cloud service), I also prefer to have all 5 speakers plus the woofer going as a matter of personal taste. For the stereo AV channel my turntable goes into, I currently have it set to the 5 speaker plus woofer setup, which puts a seemingly even mirror of the L/R speakers into the L/R rear surround speakers, and puts what appears to be a mono like composite in the front center speaker. But I have been toying with the idea of using the other option which is a 2 speaker plus woofer setup-this eliminates the front center speaker and two rear speakers. Both sound good to my ears, but I get the sense that limiting the turntable to two speakers is a more "authentic" vinyl listening experience, especially when it comes records pressed in the 60s/70/s/80s. So what say you? I'm curious to see what this board thinks. Thanks for reading, and please see my sig for my current setup.
  16. My Orbit is awesome. My only complaint is the manual switch between 33 and 45. But it's more of a user error thing than design flaw per se, just because I haven't mastered the right way to do it (I can get the belt from 33 to 45 no problem, but can never go back to 33 from 45 without having to do a full reset of the belt). I would prefer automatic switching between the two speeds, but it's a minor annoyance. Of course, I tricked mine out with a cue lever, built in preamp, acrylic platter, cork mat, and a Grado Blue cart (which they appear to no longer sell), so I was way off the base price. Still was around $500-not terrible for an entry level higher-end turntable. Still, the base level version appears to be a steal for a high quality item. Highly recommended.
  17. Patience has been my friend with this process. Numero has been awesome about updating things to where they are supposed to be. It's a little slow, obviously because of the inundation of emails and whatnot for a small organization. BUT, it looks like I am and will be ending up with everything I originally intended to end up with. I originally put an order in for the silver box +7". At first my order was displayed as simply "-" in my account history. Then, was updated to just the silver box. While I was fairly certain I ordered the box+7", I was like "fine, fuck it, I probably mistakenly only ordered the box in the rush to ensure I got color vinyl"-I looked at it as a mistake I made. Then today, totally unprompted, My order was updated to include the 7"-so needless to say, I'm very happy about that. I still have not received a confirmation email (which I don't care one iota about, as my order info is all there on my account history page) or my download (I do want this, but I'm less concerned about it because with items like this, I habitually/ritualistically never listen to the digital version before the vinyl). I figure I'll give them a week or so to wade through more pressing customer service concerns before inquiring about the DL.
  18. If is this variant https://www.discogs.com/Cephalic-Carnage-Anomalies/release/5227219 I'd say no, personally. I also got a blue marble instead of a clear on one of minE (see above) and I'm not too bummed about it because in my case, the clear and blue marble have the same limitation number. As is apparently the case with yours as well. Plus, "Dying Will Be The Death Of Me". Yeah. @Dr.Kibbe Yeah you might win here. Exhumed, Cephalic Carnage, and Murder Construct? That's a pretty good haul for discounted records chosen at random.
  19. Hahaha! Apparently I have no idea how to embed tweets. Nonetheless, it's in there. Somewhere.
  20. That's not at all the impression I got from some posts on Numero's social media feeds. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Working on those DLs now.</p>&mdash; Numero Group (@numerogroup) <a href="https://twitter.com/numerogroup/status/905096376673075201">September 5, 2017</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
  21. Yeah, Discogs confirms it as "Blue With Silver Swirl" https://www.discogs.com/End-Elementary/release/3163157 Not terribly disappointed as this is essentially bargain bin stuff, and if I don't care for it, this variant commands the highest resale as per Discogs (that I could find). Today Is The Day and Skinless are almost certainly gone as I know I've historically never cared for either of these bands. I'll give 'em a listen just to make sure, but it's not looking good for them hahaha. Agenda Of Swine, The End, Moore, and the split 7" all sound interesting on the surface, being unfamiliar.
  22. Mine just showed up, let's see what we got: 7in: Coliseum/Young Widows LPs: Today Is The Day-Willpower Suffocation-Human Waste Skinless-Only The Ruthless Remain Steve Moore-Cub Soundtrack The End-Elementary (BLUE vinyl with the slightest gray marble/splatter) Disrupt-Unrest Agenda Of Swine-Waves Of Human Suffering First impressions: pretty meh. I'll probably give everything a spin at least once ad then figure out what to do with them. I am keeping Suffocation and Disrupt. The rest? I don't know. Man, they really wanted to unload those TITD and Disrupt records-seems like everyone got at least one of those thus far.
  23. No, BUT my order does show up as confirmed in my account's order history page. That said, I don't think I'm getting a 7" but I think that was my mistake. What I don;t have is my downloads, but I am unsure if anyone has them just yet.
  24. I dig that. Pop-ish vibes in the verse with an Atomic Bomb vibe in the chorus. This is probably gonna be a super good record based on these two singles.
