  1. They’re one of my favorite live bands, especially when I’ve seen them in smaller venues and headlining. They pretty much just plug in, say “We’re Explosions in the Sky from West Texas” and then rock out, nothing fancy. You can definitely tell they enjoy performing on stage and really get into the music.
  2. I’m seeing them next month in Portland, hopefully this isn’t their last album/tour but if so it’s been a great ride.
  3. Summer drop is now live. Bootleg LP Paranoid 12” and Premium Drifter repress available.
  4. /1500 The mailer was super thin cardboard, guess I was just unlucky. Just sent them an email with pictures.
  5. So, my copy arrived today all beat up with 3 of the corners dinged and scratches on the records. It was shipped in a shitty thin mailer (I know, Europe is known for this) and I think the records shuffling around in the paper inner sleeves caused the scratches. No dust cover either.
  6. Yup, $30 fee per ticket in Seattle too. I had $40 tickets in my cart but gave them up since I just couldn’t get over paying that much given the poor venue. Hoping they announce a show in Vancouver, I’ll gladly travel for that.
  7. So, dynamic pricing in affect for this tour? Seattle tickets jumped from $40 to $80 and hearing people from other cities complaining about the same thing. If they weren’t playing Showbox Sodo in Seattle I would’ve gone, that’s just not the right venue for their sound.
  8. Agreed, I saw them twice on that tour and they sounded so good. Golden Hair live especially was just 😮
  9. I like the record but I agree with the lack of variety, the songs kind of blend into one another. To me what made Rated R and SFTD so great was not just the songwriting but the supporting cast on the records which made them sound so unique.
  10. Can’t wait to hear this, thanks for the heads up.
  11. That “bootleg” edition looks sweet, was hoping something super cool like that would turn up. I was having a hard time choosing between all the other variants so glad I waited.
  12. Yeah, I had a couple of orders that took forever to ship but the last 3-4 have been good so they’re back in my good graces.
  13. If memory serves they said Premium Drifter was only getting pressed once as well…
  14. I saw The Cure play Seattle a couple of nights ago and they were outstanding! If you’re on the fence I highly recommend going, they sounded great and Robert’s voice was in fine form.
  15. I started with Savior but it was Dead Kids that really hooked me. Choke is also great, Canary Yellow has grown on me quite a bit. I need to go back and listen to Heresy more, it’s been a while. I think Tin Foil Drip might be my favorite song from them, can’t believe that didn’t end up on a full length.
  16. Same here, I loved Premium Drifter so if it’s anything similar I’m sure it’ll be great.
  17. Preorders for their new record Metta World Peace just dropped on their big cartel page. Rare variants are already gone but still some others left. https://softkillsoftkill.bigcartel.com
  18. Nothing for me this year although the Macho Man LP would be a fun pickup if I find it cheap in a few months.
  19. Got 4 100 level seats for the Seattle show, after fees they were about $85ea, which I thought was very fair for a legacy band.
  20. Oh wow congratulations! I have a 2 and a half year old and my wife has been cool about shows lately since “you couldn’t go to any during covid” Lol. Do your best to go to that Earthless show, I saw them a few months before quarantine in 2020 and it was amazing.
  21. Just bought tickets to the Seattle show in May, what show are you attending? Going to Mr Bungle the night before, gonna be a great weekend.
  22. Armageddon Shop will have their copies next month - https://armageddonshop.bigcartel.com/product/elder-innate-passage-2lp-preorder
  23. It builds on what the band was trying to do with Omens but it’s just better. If you’re not wanting a prog heavy record you’ll likely be disappointed. You’ll still find some good grooves and riffs here but there’s a lot going on including elements of post rock and krautrock but the turns sound seamless in every track. The vocals which at times sounded a little off on Omens are also much improved. This might be my favorite record from them.
