  1. Unless the black/white mixture is actually another nefarious plot by the guy who's making Ben's life miserable in the Alkaline Trio - Remains thread.
  2. Mine's on gray, and I've never seen one not on gray, so if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck...
  3. Ultrasound! That's the place in Mentor I was thinking of. You have been exalted!
  4. Now you're talking! We played "The Channel One Suite" in my high school's jazz band and I was the drummer. Imagine how fucking stoked I was. I really, really miss playing in jazz band. I did it all through college, too, and I loved every second of it.
  5. Where are you from? Because Dr. Manhattan is from close to Rockford, Illinois, which is my hometown.
  6. I didn't order mine off Interpunk, I ordered mine directly from Silver Sprocket. Avi might not have even sent Interpunk the record yet since I don't think it was supposed to come out until Aug. 21.
  7. I personally would've gone with "First Pressing," but I can see where you get "James."
  8. Coalesce - Salt And Passage 7" (on black/white/blue)
  9. There were some Rage Against The Machine Battle Of Los Angeles-themed ones floating around a few years back... Keep scouring eBay, I'm sure they turn up occasionally.
  10. He's been collecting long before Silverstein were popular. That's part of it. But yeah, dude spends a lot of money on his stuff -- he's bought test pressings of HWM records directly from members of the band and Var. And whenever No Idea releases anything HWM-related, he always sets aside one of every variation for Billy to order specifically.
  11. On the East side of Cleveland, right next to the Beachland Ballroom, is Music Saves. They have a really solid vinyl selection, although I find it to be a tad pricey at times - http://www.musicsaves.com/ In Lakewood (western suburb), there's My Mind's Eye, which is about as big as your average bedroom closet but usually has a pretty good selection - http://www.mymindseyerecords.com/ Out in Mentor (eastern suburb), there's a store who has a good selection but it's name completely escapes me -- maybe someone else can fill in my blank? Their employees are clueless morons, however. Finally, there's Bent Crayon, on the west side of Cleveland. Imagine the snobbiest record clerk you could ever come up with, then multiply that by 10 or so, and you'd be close to what the owner of Bent Crayon is like on a good day. You'll always find some truly bizarre and awesome shit there (especially imports, and especially if you're into electronic or noise music), but you'll definitely get talked down to the whole time you're there - http://www.bentcrayon.com/
  12. I'm 25, and I think falloutcollapse is the youngest at 15.
  13. That looks awesome! At first glance, I thought the record had snapped in transit -- thank god it's just the coloring.
  14. Spencer Elden, the baby from the cover of Nirvana's Nevermind, then and now: What a bummer.
  15. Prepare to be depressed. This list is also a year out of date, too: http://www.silversteinmusic.com/billy/records.html Here's his HWM-specific list (also a year out of date): http://www.silversteinmusic.com/billy/hwm.html And some sort-of recent pics of his collection:
  16. Todd, HM's bassist, throws copies of this up on eBay every once in a while, and probably still has a few left -- I bought a copy off him about two months ago.
  17. Holy crap, congrats on that, too! What'd you name the little bugger? Let's see some pictures!
  18. Also, if anyone's looking for a good dim-the-lights-and-get-it-on jazz album, look no further than this: Coltrane is brilliant as usual, and Johnny Hartman has an absolutely gorgeous baritone voice that's been overlooked by most for decades. Seriously, this record is off-the-charts in terms of mood-setting.
  19. They sent me this email this morning: Is it wrong to be mad about this? Am I making a mountain out of molehill? The least they could've done, in my opinion, is upgraded my shipping so it would get here faster.
  20. Okay, I decided to go to Modest Mouse tonight in Cleveland, then try and make it down to Columbus on Sunday to see the Rentals. (Sorry, Less Than Jake -- I will not be seeing you on this tour.) Anyone else going to either show?
  21. Billy's seriously the best. Every time his band comes to town, I go to the show and we just talk about vinyl for hours and hours. Last year, I even gave him a pressing of a HWM LP he didn't own just because I felt I had to so he could complete his quest.
