  1. Plus the Trio's setlist was mega-weak. From Here To Infirmary played from start to finish? No thank you. That meant I had to hear "Steamer Trunk," unarguably one of the band's all-time most boring, generic songs (right up there with "Dead End Road"). But even that wouldn't have been so bad had they played a bunch of songs after it, but they played "Warbrain," "Old School Reasons" and, like, two others before closing with "97" and peacing the fuck out. So weak.
  2. I co-host The AP Show with my editor in chief, Jason Pettigrew; we play a ton of good music and talk a lot of shit on stuff for an hour. We just posted the newest episode (#44) if anyone wants to hear it. There's music from the Sound Of Animals Fighting, Bomb The Music Industry!, Hey Mercedes, Shook Ones, Holy Roman Empire, Achilles and tons more: http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=251207689
  3. It used to be one of my least favorite Trio songs when I first heard it way back in 2001, but then when I picked up the Plea For Peace comp with that track about a year later, I fell in love with it. Danny's songs are almost always where it's at for me -- Matt might write the "hits," but Danny writes the gems.
  4. I like tracking the Trio's receding hairlines through their cover photos.
  5. you too? i thought mine was the only like that. the rest were all numbered. once i get these three i will have all of the colors haha I have TAYF on orange and it is numbered, 1310/2000. However, my Thursday "Full Collapse" (coincidentally, also on orange) is not numbered.
  6. david hayes only made 1 pressing, 500 on black What would you say it's worth now? Does it ever show up on eBay?
  7. Just threw up some non-vinyl stuff on eBay. Check it out, if you're interested, and if you feel like helping me pay my mortgage, please bid: Transformers (2007) movie poster: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=150150343570 Less Than Jake all-access laminate: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=150150346051
  8. Really? I don't really know much about it; is it incredibly rare? I picked it up back in the late '90s when I worked at a record store for, like, $2.
  9. Against Me! - Searching For A Former Clarity I was watching Against Me! when my mom called me and told me my grandpa was diagnosed with cancer and had weeks to live. When I went back inside the venue, I prayed that the band wouldn't play this song, because otherwise I would've been on the ground crying. Thankfully, they didn't.
  10. I was definitely there -- such a great time, the Popes were phenomenal. The Trio's set was far, far too short, however -- not even an encore! What really got under my skin was how considering how expensive the tickets were, there wasn't even a champagne toast or something along those lines -- not even streamers and balloons. It was just another normal show for the Metro, only $80 a pop.
  11. I posted about this in the eBay thread which got buried, and I hate to be so self-serving as to make a whole thread about it, but a lot of you have been interested in buying/trading this record off of me. I decided to put it up on eBay, so if anyone still is interested, here's where you can bid: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=150149517581 I also have the Alkaline Trio/Smoking Popes split 7-inch up there, too; just click "view seller's other items" if you wanna see that.
  12. What about 7-inch comps? Like, four-way splits? I usually keep those with whatever band on it made me want to pick it up (I have one called "Gerbil Assault" with a Rumbleseat track on it; another one called "Nashville Coming Fire" with a Teen Idols song on it).
  13. I quit McDonald's about three years ago once I saw "Supersize Me," along with all other burger-based fast food. I think I've been more or less forced to eat there twice since then, and both times resorted to the chicken strips (which, while terrible, are less terrible, or so I'd like to believe). I'm still a fattie (thank you, pizza/fried chicken/Taco Bell!), but I feel slightly better about myself since I don't eat shitty burgers and shitty fries anymore.
  14. Smoking Popes - Pretty Pathetic Hot Water Music - Driving Home
  15. I do roughly the same with splits (if I like both bands equally, I do it by A side, otherwise I file it with whichever band is more of a favorite), but then what do you do on Recordnerd? I found myself typing in the actual order of something as opposed to the way I like it (i.e. the split 7" between Beezus and Braid -- I don't care about Beezus at all and in my collection it's filed under Braid, but on recordnerd I listed it as "Beezus/Braid" not "Braid/Beezus" because Beezus is the A-side). Holy shit, I just realized why I don't have a girlfriend.
  16. Smartpunk never answers anyone's emails about anything. I've tried to get in touch with them the past two years regarding the Smartpunk Stage on Warped, and it literally took weeks and weeks of near-daily emails to finally get someone's attention.
  17. I dubbed the color of mine "pale pink" but I bet it's the same as this greyish purple. I'm pretty sure the bonus 7-inches were all the same color.
  18. didn't springman say that Strictly Rude was being pushed back to the 21st cuz of plant error? i dont know. hopefully i get mine soon. i also ordered the Phenomenauts record! No idea, but I definitely got my copy yesterday, so it exists. And for the record, you need to play it at 45, not 33 -- that threw me for a sec.
  19. I know it's out of print, but apparently Verydistro.com just found a few more: http://www.verydistro.com/moreinfo.aspx?id=12162
  20. Ha! Thanks. Glad you enjoyed. Those dudes are hysterical. The Cobra Starship one is pretty funny, too, and the Big D And The Kids Table one is just all-around awesome. (For anyone who doesn't know what he's talking about, go to http://www.altpress.com/media and look under the "AP Acoustic Sessions" tab.)
  21. Really? If I had to order them, I'd go: 1st - Blueprint Sessions 2nd - Los Feliz distant 3rd - Feast Or Famine I like them all, but there's just something about those first two -- how raw and real they are, I thnk -- that just hits me perfectly.
  22. Okay, as awesome as these records look (and as awesome as the music on the actual record is), do we really need, like, four different threads proclaiming it? Ben, can we consolidate some of these?
