  1. The sound quality has nothing to do with the source being digital or analog. If you are buying a bootleg, there is a good chance it was not properly mastered for vinyl and that makes a huge sound quality difference.
  2. With a name like that I'm sure they know what they are doing.
  3. I own a few boots of OOP records that were never released on any other format and the OG copies are expensive. And a few live or unreleased boots. Would never even consider buying a boot of something that was easily available on CD.
  4. That's kinda what I figured. I looked at some of the covers and reviews of the later series and none of them really stood out. I feel the same way about him. Doom Patrol is most definitely one of his better books! If you are looking to read the TPBs, I would suggest buying them sooner rather than later. The current printing is going out of print so it may be harder to find in a bit. I had to pay pretty much cover price for Vol.4. (which I almost never pay for TPBs) Or you could buy the omnibus.
  5. I am currently reading thru Grant Morrison's Doom Patrol run. I'm halfway into the fourth TPB and loving every page of it. Seriously rivaling Animal Man as my favorite thing he's written. Have any of you read any of the subsequent Doom Patrol series'? Are they worth picking up? Anywhere near as awesome and weird as Morrison's?
  6. One of my all time favorite albums. Will buy the remastered LP!
  7. I get what you are saying. I'd still have a good time seeing them though. They broke up before I started going to shows the first time around. I'd be stoked to see Snapcase and Morning Again too!
  8. Considering going on whatever day Chokehold plays. Depends on the rest of the lineup that day though.
  9. Total Black new batch is up... http://totalblack.bigcartel.com/ 29 - Scalp Elevator - Ontario CS (New project from Ryan Bloomer + Andrew Nolan) 33 - Knækkede Stemmer - Marts (Musik For Død Akustik) CS 36 - Karjalan Sissit - Want You Dead CS (co-released with Cyclic Law) I am stoked to check out Scalp Elevator!
  10. Is it a normal record store with a used section, or just their online distro stuff set up in a store?
  11. Just read Frank Miller's Ronin. Can't believe that book came out in 1983. Way ahead of it's time.
  12. ^I'd trade it for "16 - Deep cuts from dark clouds" from your lot. My thoughts on the records I got now that I've had a chance to listen to all of them... Marduk - Frontschwein LP - OK record, some good riffs! Triptykon - Melana Chasmata 2xLP - Sweet cover and gatefold art. Music is not for me. Ramming Speed - Doomed To Destroy, Destined To Die LP - Pretty good. Didn't blow me away, but I liked it. Touche Amore - Is Survived By LP - I don't get how this band is so popular. Sounds like a watered down mix of early 2000's screamo and Modern Life Is War. Ringworm - Stigmatas In The Flesh LP - This record rules! Way better than expected considering it is a live album!
  13. Don't know how widespread Books-A-Million is, but I picked up books 2-5 of the Dark Tower series from their clearance racks recently. I haven't read them yet because I still do not have book one.
  14. Black Ceiling is kinda cool. If anyone wants to pay me a near discogs price for this, I'd be willing to sell my copy... http://www.discogs.com/BLCK-CEILING-Shvdow/release/3550697
  15. Haven't really been into anything they have done since Parade of Chaos. I still buy anything they release though because Blood & Fire blew my mind when I was 15. Will definitely pick this up.
  16. Yeah, I have the Ottoman Black CD. Good stuff indeed! That's actually the only Crumer release I own or have listened to. He's one noise artist whose discography I haven't really delved into at all.
  17. Hard to believe I am posting in a Jason Crumer thread on VC.
  18. I have only heard their first 7" (which I sold when they started blowing up). I was rather indifferent to that record. I'll give this new one a spin and see what I think.
  19. Got my grab bag in the mail today. Kinda bummed I didn't get any actual Relapse releases. Can't complain though. These are all albums that I don't have so I have some new music to check out. Marduk - Frontschwein LP Triptykon - Melana Chasmata 2xLP Ramming Speed - Doomed To Destroy, Destined To Die LP Touche Amore - Is Survived By LP Ringworm - Stigmatas In The Flesh LP
  20. That øjeRum tape is backed hard! I have the self-released version from a few months back. All three of those releases look great!
  21. current and recent Image comics that I am buying... Autumnlands Black Science Chew East Of West Elephantmen The Fade Out Fatale Jupiter's Legacy Low Manhattan Projects Nameless Outcast Prophet Saga Ten Grand Trees If you are just starting out with comics, I would recommend Saga or Chew from the current Image lineup. Saga is the best book they are putting out and Chew is the most fun.
