  1. New The Sun Burns Bright vinyl up for PO (/100). Random mix colors, whatever that means. First full band offering from them. I dig the first song. https://thesunburnsbright.bandcamp.com
  2. So it’s funny you say that because Palms never entered my mind until my brother texted me & said he heard people making that comparison. When I listened to that song after that, I totally heard Palms. Side note: I heard Palms might be making another album 🤞🏻
  3. “Link” was my favorite at first. Now it may be “Error”. Fuck that song bangs. Palms-esque finish. 🤤
  4. Yeah WP tasted a little flat. Phantom is def solid. Wish they woulda made an Ohms beer. Hopefully someday.
  5. Had White Pony last night. Not great, but it honestly coulda been toilet water & I still would have been stoked to have lol. Good Morning Beautiful was the best ‘tones beer tho.
  6. First time through this morning and I was VERY impressed. It’s such a smooth album from start to finish. Every song perfectly flows into the next. The production is jaw-dropping. A complete 180 from Gore. You get a little bit of everything here. Killer atmosphere, head-nodding grooves, blood-curdling shrieks, & banging riffs. I don’t think I could ask for more. This will take many listens to fully unravel but I could see it being the best start to finish album they’ve made. “The Spell of Mathematics” grooves so unbelievably hard. And “This Link is Dead” fucking riiiips. Very stoked for repeated listens.
  7. I am holding out on Genesis and waiting til I have the whole album. But my brother listened & said it’s amazing & then prompted the question “What’s the best Deftones opening track?”. After erupting into a cold sweat realizing how great literally every Deftones opening track is I settled on this order... My Own Summer, Feiticeira, Swerve City, Diamond Eyes, Hexagram, Bored, Hole in the Earth, Prayers/Triangles. I honestly think the first 5 are 1A, 1B, etc and the last 3 are 2A, 2B, 2C lol. I legit love all those songs. That’s right, bringing back “Deftones rankings” into the thread. At least it’s not “RANK THE ALBUMS” again amirite.
  8. If there is anyone left to ask why I hate the production on Dance so much I’m just going to play “Say Less” for them because god damn this is crisp.
  9. Fuck I guess 3 hrs late to a Nothing PO means I’m SOL on those specials. Ahh well, snagged an Oxblood. That new song rips. Infinitely better sounding than anything on Dance.
  10. I’m legit obsessed with Bottle It Up. I dunno it’s weird but hits the right notes for me. Easily my favorite of the 5 songs released thus far.
  11. Freaked out a bit when that error message came up after hitting “pay now” but luckily everything went through & got it all. Phew!
  12. Oh I figured you did haha. I had to unfollow the Sheath account a long time ago on IG because it was just too uncomfortable with all the weird cryptic shit. Sucks to hear her mental state clearly isn’t improving.
  13. Someone please make sure @Gumbo72203 is ok 😝 https://www.rangesmusic.com/babel-confusion-of-tongues
  14. I’m fine with his vocals on this album. It’s the generic af radio pop beats at about all the same tempo. Their whole “tribal groove” thing is what I love about them. This is just dull. And to have waited what, 6 years for this one?
  15. I listened to this album once & cancelled my preorder. I think that’s the first time I’ve ever done that.
  16. Haha no I haven’t but I’ve always thought it sounded like another band’s song featuring Chino on vocals. I was super stoked about this collab but just don’t think Jerry’s guitar compliments Chino’s voice at all & vice versa. Oil & water situation for me.
  17. Pink Cellphone is one of Deftones’ best songs ever until it becomes far & away the worst
  18. I feel like I’m the only one that legit loved Made of Breath only. Coulda used some tweaks, but overall it may honestly be my favorite of theirs.
  19. So true. Both releases completely ruined by the vocals. If Of the Vine was instrumental I woulda been really into it. But I loathe the vocals.
