Doing my biggest end of the year list ever this year. Gonna be a top ~80 coming in January. For now my top albums from bands I never heard of prior to this year... Dead Swords Minor Movements The Highwomen (only cuz this just came together this year but it rules) Southern Avenue Lily & Madeleine Heron Blakenberge Little Simz Underhand Sego I did an experiment with random bands that followed me out of nowhere on Instagram & listened to almost all of them. Lots of trash but 2 of those bands listed above came from that experiment.

I won’t stand here & tolerate this pre-PAIN TS slander. Technicolour Blind is far and away their best imo & honestly one of my favorite shoegaze albums ever. Gimme the dreamier TS over the more raw sound from Lovesick any day. Don’t get me wrong I love Pain & like Lovesick but TB is near perfect to me.

I love find a new band (Greet Death) weeks after playing REALLY close to where I live 🙃

For sure. When “Let it Die” started up right after “Do You Feel Nothing?” it was jarring but I was like “Damn that worked real well in the flow of this album”. Then the big comedown of “Entertainment” after “You’re Gonna Hate...” sealed the deal. Also, “Strain” is probably my favorite. I wanna stew in these dark moody beefy riffs for days.

I 100% understand if the vocals are a turnoff for some people. But for whatever reason they immediately clicked with me. I think if it was one or the other the entire album I would have gotten a bit bored. But it adds a nice spice to the pot imo.

Holy shit this album is incredible. Definitely agree it teeters between many different genres but for sure touches on some gaze. But wow first time through this album just now & I was blown away. The harsh contrast in vocals works incredibly well here.
