  1. Has anyone seen a Matt Pryor solo set since his new album came out? Is he playing stuff off that album exclusively, or New Amsterdams songs too?
  2. Technically Broadway Calls is a Smallman band too. But both CBK and BC put out their vinyl via their US labels.
  3. I saw Carpenter opening for A Wilhelm Scream on the weekend. Between sets chatting with one of the members, I was excited to learn that a vinyl version of their new album should be out in early 2009. Great album, great live band! http://www.myspace.com/johncougarisgod
  4. Too bad my conscience won't let me listen to a band called "The Color Fred".
  5. I forgot to specify t-shirt size in the comments too because I was so excited the page was loading. Oh well, if no choice, I didn't buy this for the shirt anyway...
  6. Awesome news! I second hoping the VC carries it. And I second that Commit This... would have been better but I'll settle for this one for now.
  7. I couldn't get a white, but as long as I get a blue I can die happy. I hope I don't have to watch them all slip away again tomorrow.
  8. hmmm I think I like the New What Next most. But this may be my second pick.
  9. Thanks Virgil! I was on the fence about this record, but you converted me. freeloader to customer...
  10. It boggles my mind that people can be upset or concerned about things like this. Talk about first world problems. Can't wait to hear the records!
  11. Transparent purple sounds hot. My local store has a first press copy on mustard if anyone is interested.
  12. I can't decide if I want Gaslight on the more limited white or the better looking blue. I don't buy multiples of the same album.
  13. I didn't know people still bickered about how punk or not punk one particular band is. I feel nostalgically 16 years old again.
  14. Just double checked ... mine actually says #4 / 3000. Definitely an extra zero there. So I guess someone just made a typo (or whatever you call a typo when it's by hand)? Or there's actually a lot more out there than first though...
  15. Mine is #4 /1000 I'd consider selling or trading but it would have to be a good offer.
  16. I don't think Brazil has any vinyl plants anymore. Pretty sure that's what my friends down there told me at least. I remember they told me they would like to press vinyl if they could do it in the country. Check this out and tell me it wouldn't be awesome if this band were on vinyl: http://www.myspace.com/porcocego I thought it was neat when I looked at a Nirvana discography that there's a Zimbabwe pressing of Nevermind.
  17. Downloading for free, buying the vinyl. 'Tis the way the world works now.
  18. Are there any good email clients for Mac besides MacMail and Mozilla Thunderbird? I have problems with both of them.
  19. Working in a record store when Amy Winehouse's CD was just starting to blow up, and having to listen to "Rehab" all day every day killed any shred of respect I could have ever had for her as an artist. She is just gross in so many different ways.
  20. From about 1999 to 2005 or so I ran a website called Punk International, focusing on bands and general scene activity in different parts of the world (especially 'third world' type places isolated from the major Euro/North American scenes). I'm starting up a new version of this website and looking for any good leads. I would love to hear from anyone who lives in outside Canada and the USA, or at least has some ties to such a country. If you are digging a band who comes from somewhere 'off the beaten path' please share. Also, if you have a good suggestion for what to call a website like this, let me know. I have a couple ideas in mind, but maybe someone else has something brilliant I never would have thought of. Genre-restrictive words like 'punk' won't be used this time around. Thanks all!
  21. My first press blue copy has the San Francisco loop. So recently I picked up a second copy on green/yellow at a local record store that had it pretty cheap, and it has the San Francisco loop too. Now I have 2 defective copies of Goddamnit.
  22. "American Voices" is consistently the funniest thing on the internet. I remember when it used to be updated about once a week. So awesome that it's every day now. Now all they need are daily video stories for their podcast and I have a reason to get out of bed every morning.
  23. Don't think so. Date stamp says Friday, June 13, 2008. Yesterdays was the Nascar sexual harassment story.
