  1. Good call. I had never even heard of that guy when the doc came out but I watched it and it was really good.
  2. Deliver Us From Evil - about the most notorious pedophile priest in US history This Film Is Not Yet Rated - about the shady people who assign movie ratings Jesus Camp - about religious indoctrination of children Manda Bala - about government corruption and kidnapping in Brazil Bus 174 - about a robbery/hostage situation in Brazil gone wrong Grizzly Man - about a nutjob who spent the summers living with grizzly bears in Alaska Those are a few of my favourite documentaries. Also, Ewan McGregor & Charley Boorman's Long Way Round and Long Way Down series about traveling around the world on their motorcycles is pretty amazing.
  3. It's a phenomenal album and the greatest lengths I have gone to get my hands on a record. Samples are here: http://www.captain-pla.net/pages/media.php
  4. I'm trying to track down a copy of the LP from the German band Captain Planet - Wasser kommt wasser geht. Anybody familar with this band, know where to find a copy online? I'm having a hard time navigating sites in German, hoping some distro in the US carries it...
  5. I think one factor that was left out of this whole "free speech" debate is that freedom of speech does not cover hate speech. Whether or not the name Adolf Hitler or the phrase "happy birthday Adolf Hitler" falls into the category of hate speech could still be debated, but I think it's reasonable that someone might refuse to produce those words on those grounds, and the racist family will probably encounter similar resistance to their "free speech" in the future as well. Or maybe I'm speaking from a Canadian lens only...

  7. Records and t-shirt look so nice. Makes me wish I didn't already have the Hopeless versions.
  8. Oh man, Mono is so good. Why can't Westerberg do another album that good?
  9. This thread would be better if it were about which the better Paul Westerberg album is.
  10. The yellow looks awesome. I don't care about numbers but I'll be crossing my fingers for that one.
  11. Damn. I want this. I held back because it's only 5 songs.
  12. I love my 16 gig Touch. It's not a ton of space, but if I keep it pruned so it only has music I'm currently listening to, it's fine and it leaves lots of room for videos and games. Also works better for shuffle mode too if there's not tons of stuff I don't want to hear. I hope to get another year or so of life out of it, and then it's time to move towards an iPhone.
  13. Those are the two albums I've been listening to lately and would love to get on vinyl. I hope that reissue happens one day.
  14. Does anyone know if Knapsack vinyl is up there with the elite and elusive records that are hard to come by and hard to afford? I just recently got into this band and like what I hear.
  15. Is VC going to get any of these? I would love to add one to my next order but can't really bear to ship just a 7" to Canada. Other than that, I will really look forward to a full length from these guys.
  16. Wow I'm surprised the released that independent of the Terrifyer album. I would love Terrifyer on its own.
  17. Looks great. Did you decide on a colour yet? PS. This is the best 31 knots album.
  18. I remember hearing a Meices song on the soundtrack to Empire Records. Does anyone have their album(s) to share?
  19. Chamberlain: Exit 263 & The Moon My Saddle Has Limbeck not been mentioned yet? The Refreshments: The Bottle & Fresh Horses Foundation: Foundation (Rob from Ann Beretta) Attack In Black: The Curve Of The Earth Any Matt Pryor / New Amsterdams stuff Carpenter: The Law Of The Land Paul Westerberg / Grandpaboy: Stereo / Mono
  20. The Refreshments: The Bottle & Fresh Horses Mandatory listening for anyone who enjoys any of the country-ish bands Virgil puts out.
  21. Does anybody know if Grade "Under the Radar" vinyl is still out there, or is it an ebay cash cow? Dead Format lists limited colour quantities and an undetermined number of black so I don't know if it's realistic to grab a copy of this anywhere.
  22. Aw shit I didn't realize the label is in Europe. This could be a little too pricey.
  23. Does anybody know if Epitaph reissued Rancid's albums on LP? I think for the last few years there had just been picture discs available but now Interpunk seems to have listings for regular LP. I just don't want to order an LP and get another picture disc.
