  1. That's not Shawn Michaels that's Marty Jannetty. Shawn was in HBK mode by this time. Marty was still doing the Rockers look. I remember this battle royal. I believe it was for the vacant. I can't remember who won, but I'm pretty sure Macho Man was the last eliminated. Also, I think that's Owen Hart on the top left turnbuckle.
  2. Whoa. I want this. The first Solea album is better, and I had to order it from Germany. But I won't skip out on the newer one. I still stand by my statement that Solea is better than both TITR and Samiam.
  3. Haha, I got a free ticket to Crue Fest in Vancouver. I only stayed long enough to catch Buckcherry and half of Motley Crue. And, yeah. Tommy swooned Vancouver by talking about how much he loved this city because they recorded an album here or something, and got all the girls in the front half of the floor seats to drop their tops. Typical stuff I figure.
  4. i sold one that was a 7" on black about 5 or 6 months ago. I was the one who bought this. I was under the impression it was the whole EP but you never cleared it up for me. It's 2 songs from the EP.
  5. Wow that GEMM site is pretty definite about it. This might be attainable after all. Someday I need to get the Brainiac 7" too. Ruth Ruth may not have recorded a full length for Epitaph or Deep Elm, but they have released albums since then. The mp3s on their site don't sound quite as good though. The Little Death is excellent. I wish it was easier to find even their mp3s to get a better sampling.
  6. Does anybody own a copy (or seen a copy) of Ruth Ruth's "The Little Death" on 10" vinyl? This was a co-release by Epitaph and Deep Elm. I'm sure once upon a time I saw this vinyl listed on Deep Elm's website. I can't seem to find any confirmation that it ever existed.
  7. I think the Onion, once again, nailed it: http://www.theonion.com/content/news/local_idiot_to_post_comment_on
  8. I saw the trailer, and heard that the trailer is extremely misleading. Like only 15 minutes of the movie is them remaking old movies, and that all the funny parts are shown in the trailer. Sounds typical of comedy movies from this era.
  9. Wow. I have #4 (mine says /3000 though) and I'm not particularly attached to it. Good to know I can get a decent return on it.
  10. I had a horror story with mine. But it was atypical and one of the worst cases my surgeon ever saw, so I won't fear monger.
  11. That's another thing I noticed - who the hell is T Pain and why is he a guest on every damn song?
  12. Disappointed they don't have Manda Bala. Anyone seen that? It's about kidnapping in Brazil. Recommended: Deliver Us From Evil. If you want to hate the Catholic Church even more...
  13. My yellow copy finally showed up today. Happy camper is I.
  14. Somehow punknews.org already found out about this, which is cool, but I hope some folks here take note too. Along my friend and fellow board member Derek Atkinson, I (re)launched a new website and podcast called Wreck The Place. Our focus is to showcase bands from different countries all over the world. Our first episode is up and here is a subscription link: itpc://web.me.com/krysko/Wreck_The_Place/Podcasts/rss.xml On episode one you can find some good South African beard rock, folky Brazilian punk, Russian melodic hardcore, plus something from our hometown of Vancouver, British Columbia. We also got interviews and other shit at the main website: http://www.wrecktheplace.net Feedback from board members greatly appreciated!
  15. You are crazy. I'd rather listen to Texas is the Reason over Solea any day if I want to hear his voice. I have to go with the s/t for my favorite SAMIAM record, just wish it could be remastered. I love them all though (I'm still a little bitter about CLUMSY... I hated that thing when it came out, I'm starting to come around though... it's only taken me close to 15 years) Incorrect! The self-titled Solea album is a perfect pop record. I had to import that son of a bitch LP all the way from Germany too. The most I ever paid for a record. No so sold on the second full-length yet, but since I don't have it on vinyl I don't listen to it all that much.
  16. I downloaded this... and I don't think it's anywhere near as good as the Stereo/Mono albums, but may beat out everything he's done since then. Haven't decided yet though.
  17. I wasn't into this record at first, but it really grew on me. I wasn't even into Commit This... at first either but that grew on me too. Now I think the best two MCS songs ever are on this album: "Point of Extinction" and "Can't Finish What You Started". I hope my local record store picks this up because I have about $250 in store credit there...
  18. Paper, the descendent of papyrus, has been used for centuries to document things. Also, apparently text messages are pretty rad. No, sorry. There's been a few times someone would call me, and say "I'm picking up sandwiches on the way home, what do you want on yours?" Papyrus isn't going to help in this situation, so... What should it be? "Text me what you want..."? fuck that. I hate text messaging, and if this plan (in Canada at least) goes through where you have to pay to both send and receive a text, I'll likely disable the feature on my phone altogether. It's possible to relay an order over the phone without being a cell phone asshole.
  19. Why don't you call and say there's a deadline: they pick up the cat by X:00 at your house, or anytime after that at the SPCA.
  20. I'm looking forward to hearing the new album, but I still think their 54-40 Or Fight! albums are the best. Especially "It Was High Time to Escape". Funny I thought "Talk Like Blood" was their worst and "The Days and Nights" was a return to form.
  21. What's mind-boggling here is the amount of positive feedback he has received. The only way I can make sense of that is to consider how many people believe in "The Secret" too.
  22. Can't get enough. Especially eel. Raw meat in general is excellent. I could go for some beef sashimi right now, as a matter of fact.
  23. I think the Penguin could be done well if they got someone like Phillip Seymour Hoffman to do it.
  24. I listened to it twice so far, and I love it. But I love pretty much everything he has done. Especially the New Amsterdams. Especially the last New Amsterdams album.
