  1. I ordered it from here:

    https://earcandymusic.biz/cake-fashion-nugget-lp-vinyl/

Seems to also be available on Rollin Records, and potentially elsewhere. Got my copy this week, but have yet to spin it. Good packaging for an UO press, can comment on sound quality later as I plan on listening to it at some point this weekend.

Now someone just needs to release 'Prolonging the Magic' and I will be a happy man...

I cut it down from about 50 albums to the above listed. Accidentally gave away the better looking copy of The Doors Waiting on the Sun to another guy digging, so ended up passing on the gnarly copy I kept for myself.

    Damn dood! 🙌

So, I found the grey/marbled variant available from a German site called Vinyl-Digital that people online claim is legit. It was only $23.56ppd to the US and had PayPal checkout. I figured screw it, I'll place an order and see what happens. I'll let you guys know if it actually ships or not.

Ooh very nice. Definitely worth saving the few bucks there. Vinyl Digital is totally legit, I have purchased some 'unofficial' hip hop albums from them with no issue, great site 👌👌

From what I’ve read, the Bong Load pressings are the way to go for those two. Particularly Figure 8, I’ve read the Plain reissues sounds like ass and I think universal used the same plates for the recent represses.

Ugh yes. Was not familiar with the issues and bought a used copy a few years ago, thankfully for only $10. Definitely sounds like someone ordered the audio to be "extra crispy".

  5. Man there are some crazy finds in this thread 😮

Best for me was while working at a record store several years ago. I worked with a guy who priced anything he didn't know for wicked cheap so I ended up with an og copy of Knapsack- This Conversation for $6 and a copy of Duster- Stratosphere for $3. Pretty sure he lost that store lots of potential profit, but he was an assistant manager so who was I to argue. Also talked my store manager into selling me an og copy of Ten for $5, as someone at the trade counter paid out $1 for it.

    THANK YOU! 😃

I have had Elastic Firecracker since the late 90s, and have always wanted this.

Yes $44 is insane. But if I have been looking for a record for 10 years plus, and it appears under $50, I bite. 😄

Sure thing! I feel you on this album, sooooo phenomenally good. Feels like I've 'waited a light year' for this one....ok sorry 😅

Ahhh music is so subjective. First Impressions is not only my least favourite Strokes albums but one of my least favourite albums of all time. It's horrible and unlistenable (outside the first three tracks).

Angles and Comedown Machine, and The New Abnormal are infinitely better. And of course, their first two are flat out masterpieces.

Definitely subjective. FIoE has some of my all time favorites on there: You Only Live Once, On the Other Side, Ask Me Anything, Fear of Sleep, Electricityscape. Unlistenable is a stretch in my opinion, but thats just that, my opinion 🤷‍♂️

  8. I know the stereo set gets a lot of complaints, but as a casual Beatles fan, and far from a purist of their material, I have zero problems with it. I haven't heard the mono mixes, nor does my current setup have the option to properly listen to mono, so I can't compare to that. Sourced from digital or not, they did a great job in my opinion. Great sound, no added compression, very clean, imo. Again, I am not a purist when it comes to them and Beatles fans can be very critical so I get that my opinion may not be the popular one. 🤷‍♂️

Damn, I was just listening to Broadcaster this week.  Bracing for Fig Dish news at this point.

Man, Fig Dish too, that would kill me. 'When Shove Goes Back To Push' has a permanent place in my car's CD changer. Yes, my car still has a CD changer 🙄

On another note, drove like a bat out of hell to get home from work to listen to this album. Only a couple songs in and I am blown the eff away.
