  1. My grandmas was in Dachau but she survived when the camp was liberated. But I suppose the serial number on her arm was done by her, right? Go fuck yourself you ignorant piece of shit. EDIT: She was half Jewish, half Polish, so I never determined if she was sent there because she was Jewish, or she was captured when Germany invaded Poland and sent there to work in the camp. I never really asked her about it, and I really doubt she wanted to talk about it much. A lot of her Jewish friends (she was from Warsaw) perished there, so to be honest, I have no respect or time for Holocaust deniers. Fucking unbelievable that someone could legitimately deny that it happened.
  2. We're supposed to be getting some good ones here in Southern Ontario. Thunderstorms+earthquakes... 2012?
  3. Crazy. I mean, a 5.5 is big... but it's not BIG. Kinda surprising it affects such a huge area. Hopefully everyone is ok.
  4. That's nuts. How can a 5.5 earthquake effect such a huge area? There's reports of Quebec City, to Portland, Maine to Ottawa, to Hamilton, Waterloo, Cincinatti, etc. That's an enormous area.
  5. Just felt a tremor here about 35 minutes ago. Never felt one before. Apparently a 5.5 located near Lake Champlain in Vermont/Quebec. I live in Southern Ontario (Niagara Penninsula) and it lasted for about 10-15 seconds here. I'm at home for the week from work (I work in Toronto but home cuz of the G20) and was on my couch doing some reports and eating lunch and noticed the lamp on the coffee table beside the couch was vibrating. The couch I was sitting on also jiggled a bit. Anybody else felt an earthquake before. I'm sure the California/West Coast people will be all over this thread.
  6. Chile just scored. I need a tie in this game, let's go Switzerland!
  7. I have this and love it. It'd have to be a ridiculous price for me to get rid of it. One of my fave albums of all time.
  8. Cymbals Eat Guitars and the Vivian Girls may work. I'm loving this kind of music right now... it's basically my whole playlist as of the past month or so.
  9. eww... no offense, but this band is pretty horrible.
  10. Well... ya, but I can get 200 sheets of paper for $0.98. I'm not big on supporting them either, I find them a pretty scummy organization through and through.
  11. That's the grossest thing I've ever seen.
  12. You're from Buffalo, so I'm assuming you've been to "Honeys" restaurants? Since I'm Canadian, any time I need to do some shopping I just go to the Military Road outlet malls in Niagara Falls, and the one day we stopped at the Honeys there at the mall. I ordered myself a garbage plate... easily one of the best things I've ever eaten. I felt pretty rough immediately afterwards, but after 30 minutes or so, I felt golden. Fries, onion rings and chips dressed as nachos. I think I need to make another trip soon.
  13. Man... just rocked a good 3 or 4 hours of Red Dead. I can't remember the last time I gamed for more than about 30 minutes at a time. So fucking good... that game is just ridiculous. Also, made myself some wicked good chicken quesadillas for supper and washed them down with some Sleeman beer, while listening to my Weakerthans records. I may stay in more Saturdays... all in all it was a pretty sweet time haha.
  14. Anybody else chilling at home tonight? Some records and Red Dead Redemption for me tonight... it's pretty shitty outside and a lot of people are busy, so this will be my first Saturday night at home in probably 2 months.
  15. What's it about? I've never heard of it (I'm assuming some sort of IRA thing given the one post...)
  16. That's so sick buddy. How was the showering situation? Did you guys sink shower, or just stank it up for the 9 days?
  17. I considered this for about 2 seconds. I shan't be putting myself on ice. I'm 31. I'd like to think that I'm pretty aware of who I am as a person at this point in my life. I've owned houses, lost everything I owned in a natural disaster, been married, divorced, and subsequently figured out what it is that actually makes me happy in life. Moreover, I've learned how to make myself happy. That said, I have never wanted children. Ever. The desire to procreate completely escapes me. This has been as much a part of my character as any other trait. I am only now finally acting upon my beliefs and making it as much a part of my person as my rather large nose. My current partner is absolutely 100% behind this decision. If, for whatever reason, we do not live happily ever after, any future partners I may have will either accept me for who I am, or they will not. If they don't, they weren't for me anyway. This isn't quitting smoking or getting a haircut; this is a child we're speaking of. You're either in or you're out. I am, unequivocally, out. Now and forever. Fair enough, can't find anything to ask about from my end. Makes perfect sense to me.
  18. Have you considered freezing a sample just in case? What if, down the road, you decide you do want a kid, and you have a partner who'd also like one? It can't hurt to have a backup plan rather than getting it reversed.
