I'm late to the game as usual this year, but I finally finished my list. Bam. http://necessarymeansforanecessarymeans.blogspot.com

PO: PERSON L/WEATHERBOX split 7-inch (2ND PRESS!)
sabukweli replied to scottheisel's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Snagged a black. Am I the only person who dislikes when black is the rarest variant? It's kind of boring. Maybe I should just not care what's rarest and enjoy the music, right? I'm a dick. Also, that sucks to hear about the most recent drummer not being able to make the next tour. Jesus crust, he was fucking phenomenal on the last tour. I'm sure the new old dude will rule too, but still, that sucks. -
Gates "the sun will rise" on vinyl!
sabukweli replied to almightyseancore's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Yes! Finally knowing when this will be available for order and seeing all those beautiful pictures gives me a throbbing boner. Knowing that it actually exists and that this is not a 9-month preorder are also huge bonuses. I'm so stoked this is finally happening. -
I was able to score some 4" thick construction grade styrofoam from work to set my turntable on because the bass was actually shaking my entertainment center enough to make the needle skip occasionally. Since I did that there haven't been any issues. I'm sure you could get something similar from home depot or the like. I would think that would be better than something hard like granite because it's made to dampen vibrations and hard materials can actually transmit them sometimes.

Moneen - Are We Really Happy and Theory?
sabukweli replied to blanchardoswald's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Seconded, especially for a Red Tree repress and Are We... The first press of Red Tree is so impossible to find that discogs doesn't even have a page for it. -
I know some of you guys appreciate thoughtful hip-hop so I figured I'd post this. Apparently The Union is a French production duo. I'm not so into their synthy beat on the A-side, but the REDEF remix on the B side by Damu The Fudgemunk (who has teamed up with Insight as Y Society and put out some phenomenal instrumental hip-hop albums) is ridiculously good. They're calling the record a 12", but it's shaped like a (light blue) triangle so the actual playing space (forgive me for not knowing the technical term, oh vinyl gods) is that of a 7". Here's the video for the Union version: !And here's the order page, where you can hear the stellar remix I speak of through an embedded Soundcloud player: http://www.fatbeats.com/products/union-time-leak-neon-triangle-12 It's pretty pricey, but how many pieces of triangle-shaped vinyl can you say you own? It's definitely my first.

These guys put out a promising demo earlier this year, and Upside Down Records has now put out their first official physical release. It's damn good, and I was stoked to find out today that you can now order it from UDR's webstore here: http://www.upsidedownrecs.com/#webstore International heads must order at least 2 items. To preview/download/listen to tracks, go to their bandcamp: http://reachthetracks.bandcamp.com/

We are the Romans reissue?
sabukweli replied to youspinmeround's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Same here. Already had the blue/orange but took a chance and it paid off. When did you order, and did you get a shipping confirmation email before it arrived? I'm still thinking I'm dead in the water, but I'm still holding out a little hope. -

I also ordered from amazon UK after striking out with amazon US. I ordered on 11/5 and the status is currently "not shipped yet". I'm guessing that means I'll probably get a cancellation email because they ran through the few copies they got. At least that's my guess since some of you got yours already. Anybody else.in the same boat, or did anybody get a shipping confirmation this week at all? -

Red City Radio/Gamits Split 7"
sabukweli replied to xschurzix's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
I'm eager to get my hands on one of these as well, but I'll wait until the presumed non-Fest copies go up for sale. I can't wait hear RCR covering White Lion. I had the Mane Attraction CD as a kid and loved it. -
Where do you buy most of your records from?
sabukweli replied to youspinmeround's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Discogs for older stuff (which is how I voted), and usually label (pre-)orders for new stuff. I probably have more from Discogs at this point though. I've also ordered quite a bit from shopradiocast. -

I'll go $20 on that pink demo 7". I have a Discogs account. -
PO: Timeshares - Bearable LP (ex - The Knockdown)
sabukweli replied to kraken's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Finally had a chance to give this a full once-through and ordered it immediately on Friday. For KOD's sake I wish more people were ordering it, but for my sake I'm happy since I may get a rarer color. -
QUICKSAND 'SLIP' REPRESS COMING SOON
sabukweli replied to justakid's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Academy Fight Song's facebook posted a picture of the art this past Thursday. No word on when we'll be able to order it. It's one of my favorite and influential albums of all time, so I'm just as stoked on it as everyone else here. I REALLY hope they don't put this up for pre-order at like 10AM on a weekday or I'm fucked. -
WEATHERBOX "Follow The Rattle Of..." 12-inch EP
sabukweli replied to scottheisel's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
I just got back. Picked up what I believe was the last swamp water colored vinyl Brian had. It looks awesome in person. And I agree 100% on the drummer. Holy shit! That kid can wail. I shot a couple videos which I hope to get posted on youtube tomorrow. -

Going to the Lansing show tomorrow night and hoping to pick up a copy. Life has gotten in the way every other time I wanted to see them, so I'm thrilled to finally get the chance and maybe nab a wicked looking piece of wax. Can't fucking wait for the American Art vinyl. It's such a tragic error that it was never pressed before. -
Such Gold/A Loss For Words Split
sabukweli replied to maxxxg's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Thanks for posting my video. I thought that song sounded super bad ass live and can't wait to hear the whole record. Devan Bentley might be my favorite drummer out there right now. -
PO: Blu & Exile - Below The Heavens
sabukweli replied to companyinkrecs's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
I might consider getting this. Thanks for the post anyway. Otherwise I wouldn't have had any idea. There are way too many respectable hip-hop artists not putting out vinyl versions of their releases (like anything on Showoff Records, especially Reks). -

which color record did you get? if its the split color ill buy it from you I didn't open it specifically because I may get rid of it and figured a sale/trade would be easier if I didn't, but if they gave me what I ordered, then yes it is the split color. I believe that was the only option with the mega bundle, and the mega bundle was the only way to get it unless you were some sort of link sleuth like some people here (wish I would've read this board more diligently back in August). Before I sell it, I want to make sure my SRC order makes it here safely so I have at least one copy since I do enjoy about half of the album. And then if I do decide to sell it, I will contact you first before I put it up publicly, so thanks for the offer. I appreciate it. -

Why not just get rid of the sweatshirt too? this album is fucking solid. probably my favorite of the year. Because a.) It's a size L and all the "scene" kids these days love to cram their body parts into the smallest clothing possible, b.) it's a cool looking sweatshirt, c.) clothing is useful fay beyond a record, CD, or poster, and d.) my wife went ahead and washed it for me already. Okay, so (d) might not be that relevant, but I'll still probably keep it. Thanks for asking though. -
Ebay: Blink 182 Enema of the State, 123/182, Blue

Also, this would probably have a better chance of getting seen if it were posted in the official Ebay thread that's stickied. -
Transit - Listen and Forgive Vinyl
sabukweli replied to srcvinyl's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
I got the mega bundle and everything came together in one very oddly shaped package. I also ordered the SRC pre-order with the slipmat, so I'm in for close (enough) to $100 on this album....and I haven't been this let down by a release from a favorite band in quite a while. In fact, I'm honestly thinking about unloading/trading everything in the mega bundle except the sweatshirt. I'm going to give it some time and a few more listens though, just because my love for their previous output dictates that they deserve it.
