  1. Thanks for posting, Juan. Elliott is one of my favorite bands of all time and this probably would've slipped under the radar otherwise. My wallet hurts as bad as the rest of you guys' for sure.
  2. Thanks for posting. I also have Terrorhawk but needed Right Now. Glad to finally have it. And thanks to dude who posted about interpunk having it because that reminded me I still needed to grab the Braid/B&C split.
  3. Thanks, dude, and thanks to codyoler too. As for pictures, anything I would take of my orange LPs wouldn't look as nice as the one Rev posted on facebook. I don't have a previous press to compare it to, but I think it sounds great.
  4. Got my blood orange in the mail on Friday. Sounds and looks great, and I swear it's 180g but don't have a scale to confirm. If not it has to be 140g. Does Rev typically not post pressing info? I didn't see any numbers anywhere in this thread or on their product page for this. I'm guessing at least 1000 of each of the two colors.
  5. "Bow and arrow kit" just made me legit LOL in the quiet area of the library. Well played.
  6. No, it's actually the guy in the avatar. I hacked into his account just to stalk you in hopes of meeting you. Seriously though, I would've just texted but my phone was dead and on another floor. I don't know if you're going, but unfortunately I won't be seeing B&C tomorrow night because a friend's band is playing in Ypsi. It kind of sucks. It's the first non-fest bill with 3 bands I like on it in forever.
  7. You have a problem, miss. But I can't call you out too bad because your addiction may serve to benefit me. You want to sell me your second one the next time we see each other after you get it? For some reason I haven't ordered it yet.
  8. Total dick move. Notice the condition of the sleeve. http://www.discogs.com/buy/Vinyl/Mineral-The-Power-Of-Failing/87697535?ev=wh
  9. Got my shipping notification today, so of course I got nervous a day too early. Should arrive tomorrow. Really really really looking forward to spinning this.
  10. Yeah, I've never had any issues before with them, so I should probably just cool it.. I just want this to arrive so fucking bad I'm getting nutty. I was going to give it a few more days before emailing them. Figured I'd bother you guys first.
  11. So has anyone else who ordered from Topshelf not gotten their record(s) or a shipping notification yet? I'm starting to get concerned something got screwed up with my order after seeing so many other people have gotten theirs and seeing that Seth said he was doing the notifications 5 days ago. I got a paypal receipt but not one from TS...can't remember if they send separate receipts like some other labels. I'm in Michigan for what it's worth as far as shipping speed and expected arrival.
  12. For what it's worth, Def Leppard's Hysteria clocks in at around 65 minutes (if my memory serves correctly) and has only ever been pressed as a single LP, which is an utter fucking shame. Unsurprisingly, the sound quality suffers for it. What Happened To You is one of my favorite tracks from this, but I'm afraid it'll probably suffer being at the inside of side B. Oh well, I'm still buying for sure.
  13. Interesting. I'm holding out to hear what Hot Topic has up their sleeve for this as far as an exclusive variant. I'm surprised there's still no news on that. T-Money, where you at, bud?
  14. I've had this problem twice (assuming I understand what you're saying). The first time I tried carefully using a razor knife. That didn't go so well. I slipped and gouged the fuck out of the first track. The next time I used sandpaper which worked much much better. It took a while but I eventually got it trimmed down to where it didn't knock the arm base assembly when I spun it. That method requires being careful about making sure the sanded bits don't get into the grooves when they come off. Gravity must be your friend in that situation. I would've much rather returned both but they were limited variants that were already sold out by the time I got them.
  15. That version of "Fazer" features Kelsey Grammer on backing vocals so they modified the name a little. You have to listen really hard to hear him though. Many people don't know it, but he was a huge Quicksand fan. His ex-wife used to complain on Real Housewives about him listening to "Slip" over and over ad nausem and even cited it as a minor reason for the divorce. I heard she even got his OG press of it in the settlement and hocked it on ebay. Seriously though, I just wanted to post here to express my extreme joy at being able to hear these songs live for the first time in 18 years (1st Warped Tour in Pontiac) tomorrow. Hopefully it'll be the dream come true I'm imagining.
  16. I may have it twisted, but I swear I recall seeing in an interview or facebook post that Chase said that Matt (the original, pre-Holy Shit singer) only came back for a tour to help them out after Stu Ross left and was not a permanent replacement. I'm almost 100% positive they then posted on facebook later that the search for a new singer was so frustrating that Chase had decided they don't need one and he's going to be doing all the vocals from here on out. I was stunned at that decision. As much as I hate to swing the hammer at a really nice guy and his band that I love, Chase is not much of a vocalist (it's nasally and heavily doctored on record and sounds borderline awful live when he'd throw in backing vocals) and his voice along with nobody else to play off of will really alter the overall sound of the band. I really think that gruff delivery of Stu and Matt is vital. I do however understand how tough it must be to find somebody with the right voice who isn't a total asshole to spend weeks in a van with, so I sort of get his logic. I haven't heard anything since then, but that's probably because facebook decided their posts don't belong in my feed anymore. I just looked at their page and only see 4 members in the cover photo, so I gather there really hans't been any new news. So all that said, I'll be VERY curious to hear what your opinion of their set is. Please let us know.
  17. A buddy and I are going to the Detroit show on Friday. I gather from quicksandnyc.com that Title Fight is not supporting on that show (I guess I'm one of very few who like both apparently, although I'm hopeful the headwalkers won't be in attendance as a result). The venue site says Single Mothers are also playing but nobody else is listed. I gotta guess there's at least one more opener. They can't do just one, right? If anybody else knows anything, let me know. My buddy's coming from the other side of the state and timing will be an issue. I'm just hoping we can get there for Quicksand but I'd like to skip openers if possible. I'm not too keen on Single Mothers.
  18. I couldn't locate this other Best Of 2012 thread you speak of, Ronnie, so I guess I'll put this here. I finally finished my list this past weekend. There's probably way more hip-hop (and none of it hipster-hop either) than almost any VCers would care about, but I do share a lot of tastes with a lot of people in the punk/emo genres. http://necessarymeansforanecessarymeans.blogspot.com/
  19. What the fuck is the deal with these prices? I expect it for some deftones fan club exclusive horse shit or for a repress of an old major label release where the rights have to be bought, but almost $30 for a new retail release with no special packaging or presentation? Frig off, Lahey. For the love of kittens I'm praying this is at least a 2xLP for that assrape price. I haven't preordered anywhere yet so I haven't seen whether it is or not.
  20. Wow. I couldn't have imagined anybody would dignify that with a serious response. Of course that would all happen and make it not worth it. That whole thing with that record getting repressed has been a shit show, and just the thought of somebody coming in and undercutting the whole thing was funny to me. Also, just to play devil's advocate here, why is everyone assuming the OP was actually hoping to bootleg something himself? I've almost been curious enough about the subject to ask here before, strictly out of curiosity because of the Euro bootleg of Quicksand - Slip and the many bootlegs of Tool - Aenima. Given all the scary legal implications, it just seems like their existence shouldn't be possible. I guess I didn't realize there would even be pressing plants in countries without copyright laws.
  21. Generally, you're right, but tell me bootlegging Third Eye Blind's self-titled just to spite Stephen Jenkins doesn't sound like a great idea and I'll tell you you're a liar.
  22. Well then. What an appropriate time for me to swoop in and suck SRC's D. I guess I get why some people don't like them, but it's impossible for me to deny what a bang-up job they've done with their reissues/represses. Everything of theirs listed below was a record I was dying to have in my collection from jump about 5 years ago, and they all sound and look great. 1. Quicksand (Easy #1 considering it was ripped from the hands of RJ who had sucked it down into his shit vortex of failure) 2. Moneen 3. Deftones 4. Staring Back 5. Park - It Won't Snow
  23. 1. Everyone Everywhere (USA) - Everyone Everywhere (again) 2. Such Gold - Misadventures 3. Prawn - Ships 4. Reks - Straight, No Chaser 5. Dikembe - Broad Shoulders Honorable mentions: Title Fight, Deftones, The Jealous Sound, Fizzyology, Homelife, Sean Born, Pentimento/Young English, Gates, Vasudeva, Nas, Muscle & Bone.
  24. You are correct about the title. Here's a video I shot of it for any who want to hear it.
