You missed my point completely. If the artist is experienced and good---it shouldn't take that long to complete a sleeve.

If someone told me that they take that long to complete a sleeve---I would find someone else. That's a really long time and definitely reflects experience or lack of.

Too many factors. Do they charge by the hour or the piece? Is your guy fast or slow? Established artist or young buck? Big city or small town? The bottom line is that I wouldn't worry about cost---I would worry about quality. Color vs. black and grey should not matter when it comes to anything other than your preference. My go to artist currently charges $180/hr and is worth every penny. My half sleeve was over 2K but it was done in the tebori tradition and took twenty-three hours to complete.

Visited the Talisker distillery this summer and picked up a gift box of three of their whiskies as well as a limited edition 12 yr old Lagavulin. Haven't broken into the Talisker set yet but the Lagavulin is heaven on my tongue.

Do some more research into the declining middle class and you will realize that the decline of unions in America is a large part of the reason that the middle class has shrunk (you can also thank Reagan).
