  3. Just saw Neko Case at the Apollo in support of the box set. I've seen Neko before but what an amazing show. The show was stripped down with no drummer or Kelly Hogan. It really was a showcase for her voice. She performed songs she has retired and stuff she's never played live. It was an excellent selection with a few choice omissions but some of the highlights were "Bought and Sold," "Lady Pilot", "The Needle Has Landed," "Hold On, Hold On,"Margaret Vs. Pauline, "Blacklisted," "Night Still Comes," "Duchess" and "Look For Me (I'll Be Around). So many more. So good.
  4. Caught a few bands that people have mentioned and was lucky/old enough to see bands like The Smiths, Fugazi, Black Flag (Rollins), The Gun Club, etc. I saw Nirvana five or six times---including a show with a little more than twenty people in attendance. But bands that I really wish I could have seen are Joy Division, Squirrel Bait, Minor Threat and Husker Du. The only one on that list that I could have seen is Husker Du and I never did. I was probably too busy catching Love & Rockets or The Mission. Dumb.
  5. Extensive tours? How do you figure? A handful of dates in the States is extensive? Eight shows in 2006 and twelve in 2008.
  6. That's going to be a difficult one. Don't know if he'll tour again. Glad I saw him on Mule Variations.
  7. Saw them in 1999 and last year. They were very good---probably better than you would expect. Definitely better than Judas Priest who I saw a few weeks ago.
  8. B-side to the "Down in the Dark" 7". Glad it wasn't something that hasn't been released.
  9. I think it was an early release. Not limited or exclusive.
  10. Easy RSD. Didn't know if I really needed anything. Thought about it and decided to go around 11. No line at Rough Trade and just a few folks inside. Grabbed Bowie, Ty Rex, Color of Noise, SUNN and Parquet Courts. No headache and no hassle. They had much of what some folks are looking for with the exception of Coheed. Also had some stuff that I hadn't seen on any list like the NEW Order boxset for their latest release. I don't know how much they have left but if you're in NYC, it might be worth checking out.
  11. 1. Treasure of the Sierra Madre 2. Rushmore 3. Jaws 4. The Empire Strikes Back 5. Pink Flamingos 6. Blue Velvet 7. Throne of Blood 8. Do the Right Thing 9. North by Northwest 10. Sleeper
  12. Right around the corner from me. I've done a couple of spontaneous walk-ins there.
  13. Loving this record. It's very different and that's a good thing. It's the best thing Jeff the Brotherhood has done in years. I was losing faith but this record has brought me back into the fold. Highly recommended!
  14. I'm sure that hourly rates aren't a secret unless the artist cut you a deal.
  15. I may have that Beach Fossils---I'll check when I get home. I definitely have their debut on clear vinyl/different jacket.
  16. I like Pink Floyd as well---especially the Syd Barrett stuff.
  17. I recently got a rather large mermaid which I never once considered girly. A merman on the other hand...
  18. I went the seashell route---thought about the boobs but then thought I offend people enough without the boobs.
  19. You're treating it as if it's all the same which is far from true.
