  1. Bumping thread because Sabot Tweeted this earlier today

We're doing a special vinyl version of Lucero's "Tennessee" album for the Lucero Family Picnic in August. Tix here: http://bit.ly/17cEB9K

Bummed I don't live close enough to go to that show, if anyone is going and would be willing to pick up an extra copy and mail it, it would be greatly appreciated.  If not I'm assuming a less special version of the record will be released by Sabot too.  Glad this is finally getting a repress and Sabot's work with TMFW was top quality too, really excited to see how this one turns out.

  2. The mailing address was the same for every order; the only thing I would change would be the recipient's name. I had packages addressed to Fox Mulder, Dana Scully, Amanda Hugginkiss, I. P. Freely, etc. — and they would arrive by the dozens every few days.

Opening other people's mail is a federal offense, so if you want to get technical you did something illegal. :P Maybe one could argue multiple personality disorder to get out of that charge since none of the people you ordered it for existed haha.

I think both parties are to blame here, you can't offer something like this without people exploiting it.  And taking advantage of this isn't the most honest thing to do.  With the amount of exploitation that has been admitted to in this thread I am really surprised they haven't stopped it.

  3. Love how rather than keep their inventory up to date they will ban a customer. Feels real similar to HT excluding vinyl from the majority of their sales rather than create unique codes for hot cash.

Yea I know both of these situations are people taking advantage of known loopholes, but if you leave loopholes they are gonna get exploited. I'm not complaining that these companies are taking action to stop the exploits, just about the nature of how they do it.

Something is seriously out of whack with their inventory, things that are guaranteed to be out of stock just keep popping back up. Seems they need an overhaul of their whole system or maybe do the obvious thing and stop giving out these codes for back ordered items.  I wonder how long this will last, but if they are banning accounts it might be the beginning of the end now.

  4. Always contact the seller first. See what he offers. I would want a full refund since it skips, but you'll probably have to pay return shipping. I would not leave negative feedback if I got a refund.

Thanks, I was just unsure how to go about it.  And yeah I think negative feedback is a last resort option if the seller refuses to accommodate/respond at all.  Much appreciated!

  5. I have a new to eBay question, not sure if this is the right place to post but I didn't want to create a new thread and tried searching for others but wasn't sure where my question applied.  I recently bought The Lucero Attic Tapes LP and the 7 inch from a seller, the condition was marked as excellent for both the sleeve and record.  When I got it on Tuesday I opened it up and found although the sleeve was in excellent condition I believe the record was not.  My first gripe being they shipped the 7 inch inside the paper sleeve the LP came in.  I feel like it's common sense to ship the 7 inch outside of the LP paper sleeve to avoid scratching the LP, and either put it in the cardboard sleeve with the LP paper sleeve against it or put it between the poly sleeve and the cardboard sleeve.  Also the LP  was covered in dust and finger prints when I took it out of the sleeve for inspection.  Tonight I cleaned the LP as best I could and found that it skips in about two or three places.  The 7 inch was fine and in excellent condition in my opinion when I played it.  So I guess my question is what should I do?  I feel like the LP was not in "Excellent" condition considering it has some skips and I'm not playing it on a crosley or anything.  Should I leave bad feedback?  Ask for a partial refund? File a claim?  I guess I would just like some input.  Any answers/opinions would be greatly appreciated.  I don't know how often this thread is read, but thanks for reading if you got this far.

  6. Two years ago I think I sat in front of the guitarist of this band while I was on a commuter train.  It was pretty weird, he was on the phone the whole time and recalling his grunge days to whoever was on the other line. He probably didn't say anything that isn't pretty well known to begin with, but it was still really interesting.  Sorry for being off topic, but that just popped back into my memory when scrolling across this thread.

  7. It seems like the blood splatter that was "limited" has gone out to many distributors, so I would say their limited press is probably pretty high in number of copies pressed, maybe 1k+ which is on the conservative end.  This is also back up on the myplaydirect website where it was sold out, so that also says something about how limited this is.  They definitely made a few bucks off of people with their use of the word limited, which seems a little dishonest to me.
