Solid trailer.  I hadn't seen or heard of that prior to thread.  Thanks for sharing.

I know Bungo wants to make D2 more story-driven, but I hope they don't skimp on a lot of the PVP aspect.  A campaign akin to Halo is pretty low on the list of things I'd like to see for longevity's sake.  I do think it's pretty genius that the game [supposedly] starts with the destruction of an environment that's been your safe haven for 3 years.  Absolutely the best way to convey that this is a new slate and things are different.

If anything, I'm most excited for the current gen's potential to handle this while no longer having to base a code around the needs of a PS3 or 360.  There's talk that the game's social environments (for patrol missions) are larger than all of the original patrol areas combined.  We'll have to see.

I think they'll continue to refine and build on what was working, so I think the story missions will offer more story and cutscenes but play similarly. Possibly with the addition of some light raid mechanics or something to give boss battles more weight. I'm expecting more diversity, but it will play similar to how the game plays now. That said, based on how they evolved the first game and the continued inclusion of record books, the grind will still be real.

Continuing the speculation, I suspect they were caught wrong-footed with the popularity of PvP and will have a pretty solid multiplayer component.

sorry to hear this but i think something will happen soon.  Most people I know couldn't get far enough in the Amazon interview for an onsite so i think you're really close to getting something awesome!

I've heard with Google that many employees did the application cycle twice before offer. Making on-site is absolutely a great sign. Typically you want to wait a year, which sucks. In the interim, try to keep growing your skillset for the next go round. Lots of other stuff up here though Chkdea. What is your background again?

How is M$? You are on the Cortana team, right?

What'd you think of Neumos?  They just did a remodel and I'm not sure if I like what they did to the upstairs.  Downstairs is about the same.  Also, show was real good all around.  It was cool to see Deafheaven do that CODY cover.

I'm not sure the venue made much sense to me.  The floor was fine, decent views all around and sound cool but the whole upstairs is pretty worthless if you actually want to see the show. I'd go again no question but it didn't blow me away.

The show was great though. Fantastic bill. Caught all three.

Had a great time drinking with a friend of mine who I don't see much (had a kid ~8 months ago, so she's pretty busy).  Only problem was I kind of feel like I ruined my whole weekend,  since I've been bumming around the house with a hangover all day today.  Seeing Deafheaven, Emma Ruth Rundle and This Will Destroy You tonight.  Such a solid lineup.

    Hey. I was there too.

Nice, we'll see how it goes.

If you haven't I'd also hit Sushi Momo. Lots of people love Aux Vivres but I'm only kind of "eh" on it. The namesake mezze is dope though. Lola Rosa is solid too but not fully vegan. Are you going soon? Do you know all this already? I think I missed the start of this.

luckily they hired 30 of us so I'm in a pack of being the new person.  we are doing classroom training for about 4 weeks and then we split into our teams we got placed on.  I don't think i'm allowed to go into detail but me and two others got placed on the Cortana team and that section seems freakin awesome!

I'm glad to hear  you had a good first week! Have you done any tourist stuff?  I went to the pike place area and had really good homemade apple cider but I'm sure there is a lot more to be seen.

It sounds like you got a great view from your office! Are you working in Seattle or outside of it? My team is in Bellevue so I'll be working from there soon instead of Redmond.

we don't get free food but drinks are free. Been drinking lots of weird stuff like coconut water and orange juice in a tiny can and these weird flavored waters.

Have you been using public transport?  I kept getting lost on it.

sounds like we both are really diggin this move!B)

Cortana team seems fun. Iteresting work at least.

We went to the zoo and the children's museum. I'm not sure what is super touristy here outside the space needle or market. Haven't done the needle. Im looking forward to going to Safeco for a Mariners game.

My office is in Pioneer Square, the deck on the roof looks at the Ferris Wheel pretty much. Maybe a block or two south of that. Public transportation is easy for me since I'm coming from West Seattle. Any WS bus works coming home and any Downtown bus works going in. Takes about 20-30 minutes it seems.

I'm into the move so far.  Not totally in the house yet though. No coffee table, real short on kitchen stuff and missing bedroom furniture. It's coming though.

This resleeving project is quite the undertaking, even with just 100 inners and 50 outers. Trying to decide what makes priority, since I can't exactly afford to do it all at once I'd need hundreds more of both and I'm sure they exist but I didn't even think about polylined inner 7" sleeves

Haha. I know the feeling. I never buy enough of the nice sleeves so everytime I get a new pack I have to reevaluate my entire collection. Are you good enough for a fancy sleeve? No. No. You are a fine record but I just don't listen to you that much.

I'm  doing an AirBnb in Redmond. It's a nice 5 min walk to work:).  I've been to seattle a few times and keep getting lost but it's been cool so far.  Hopefully I don't wander into Pioneer Square at night.

It didn't seem that bad, you would be fine down there at night. There are some great bars and restaurants, it just has some vagrants, near as I can tell.

I haven't been over to Redmond or anywhere on that side of the lake yet.

  9. Holy Mountain is awesome.

I work in Pioneer Square. It seems like it could get a little weird at night, especially under the highway down by Western. I've seen some crazies running around but it doesn't seem to bad.

Some parts of 3rd downtown can get sketch at night I've heard but haven't seen it. What part of the city are you staying?

Congrats on the move! I wanted this place to be my forever home but this state is not for me; future neighbor. When I got the check from selling ye olde house I shat myself. "Were putting into savings". Na. We bought all new furniture and other silly shit. Not one record tho. Stupid me.

I think our dog has a winter coat and a hoodie for spring.

When you moving? Where you moving?
