  1. I lived in VT for about 15 years. Feel free to PM me with any specific questions!

Hill Farmstead is about an hour or so from Stowe, but the lines can be long. It is your best, and generally only bet, if you want to have Hill without going to a beer bar.  If you are cool with consuming it in a bar you don't generally need to drive that far. Prohibition Pig, Blackback Pub and Mad Taco are your best beer bars in the Stowe/Waterbury area. The Bench and The Reservoir are pretty solid as well.

If you can travel near the Stowe area get up to the Mule Bar in Winooski (The Monkey next door also often has a great list) or down Three Penny Taproom in Montpelier. Both are about 20 minutes from Stowe are your best bet for beer lists full of great local stuff. Getting Alchemist beer is easy, just go there. Lawson's can be trickier but shouldn't be too bad. Just ask a bar tender at any of the bars with a decent list.

Foam (in Burlington) and Frost (in Hinesburg) are less sought after but do decent beer. River Roost has been getting some love but they opened after I moved.

C'mon VC, you're better than this

Not when half the stuff is novelty kitsch for dorks like me! I listen to the majority of my soundtracks, save a few, rarely to never.

I buy this stuff almost exclusively for the quality of the art. There has been a noticeable quality dip in vision and execution in my opinion. They release so much now so it was bound to happen. I suspect the also make more money so good on them.

Anyway. My unsolicited two cents. If y'all wonder why the thread title never gets updated anymore, there you go.

I know there's a small crowd on VC who celebrate her material, and that's fine, but I've legitimately read comments (elsewhere) that praise her "gloomy" aesthetic and champion her as the queen of sullen indie.  It's just a relief to hear you parodying that instead of supporting it – I never know on these boards, anymore.

I think Alexandra Savior has taken that crown now anyway.

Do you think they actually consider what they're pressing onto vinyl, or do they just grab a rip of some bullshit OST off Pirate Bay and hope for the best at the pressing plant?

This is a picture disc that will be a nostalgia purchase or perhaps nabbed by the occasional completionist. Nobody is actually going to play it. So, my man, the question is moot.

The upstairs has always been odd there, it wasn't so open before the remodel though.  Used to be a few bathrooms up there, a little bit of seating and the bar.  Now it seems like they expect people to sit up there and drink and watch the show on the TVs.  There were a few bars on the floor that got removed too.  They used to do a lot more 21+ shows, but I'm wondering if they're focusing more on AA shows now.

And yeah, show was great.  I would've gone for any of the three.  I guess Emma Ruth Rundle lives in Portland now, so I'm hoping her playing here becomes a regular thing.

Yeah, that makes no sense to me. Especially because the cameras feeding the TV seem to be garbage. She was awesome. Went in to that one blind, became a fan.
