  1. I know they confirmed YT would be repressed, but I haven't heard any musings of the box set getting another press. That is what I really hope for.
  2. My Father My King needs a quality repress. The OG sounds like garbage.
  3. Cheers. Doesn't look like any US stores have it in stock currently, but it was like $38 shipped from JPC, so I tried that.
  4. not seeing this in r/Mogwai. Do you have a link to the thread?
  5. anxiously waiting to see if any US retailers get this.
  6. yep, these singles have been consistently good. Really stoked to hear this album.
  7. I'm pretty sure I am in the minority in thinking that Under the Boards might be Saves the Day's best record
  8. I'm sure the variant didn't help, but even I wouldn't blame it sounding that bad on just the gloopy grey and white puke variant
  9. The Hot Topic pressing sounds like Hot Garbage. I'll bite on another attempt to serve this album justice.
  10. The last time I saw Thrice was on their "Farewell Tour" in 2012. It was a pretty even mix across their discography, based on votes from fans, and a really great show. I haven't cared enough about the last couple albums to want to see them again, but maybe that will change with the new material.
  11. Throwing the dad rock label at anything Thrice did pre-hiatus is dumb. Even though I didn't care for their post-hiatus albums, I still wouldn't call it that. Then again, I'm not the guy who screams "play Deadbolt" at every show... Alchemy is tied with M/M for my favorite. It's brilliant, and even though they were experimenting, it still felt cohesive. I agree that Beggars was a nice follow-up, but I don't think it was as strong. I may also be in the minority, but I really don't like Vhiessu as an album. It has some of my favorite Thrice songs, but some of my least favorite as well, and it has a really weird flow as an album. It almost would have worked better if they took an Alchemy approach and split it into 2 EPs.
  12. I wouldn't want them to repeat exactly what they did on any of their albums, but I felt like they were on a natural progression which kept getting better and better through Major/Minor. TBEITBN is their absolute worst, in my opinion. Palms was an improvement, but it was still pretty weak. Both post-hiatus albums felt like they suffered from Dustin's solo style and trying to find something that sounded cool with the kids. Somebody was watching too much Stranger Things when they wrote Only Us... The singles so far feel like they could have followed Major/Minor, which is exciting. I thought they were at the top of their game then.
  13. Nice. This song too feels like a natural progression from Major/Minor. I'm getting excited for new Thrice again.
  14. excellent. cat gifs. this thread is finally reaching its maximum VC potential
  15. I agree that the strained vocals actually benefit the songs. Musically Good Mourning was a shift towards a more polished rock sound that became much more apparent on later albums. The strained vocals tie it a little better to earlier material, which I prefer.
  16. Eh, I don't really care about that. I'd rather have the most complete, best sounding set
  17. I kind of wish they would just create and sell belly bands for the existing Ten Stories and [Untitled] boxes
