  1. It does look really nice, but it's not really any colorful than previous presses (I thought the same as you). It's slightly more saturated, but marginal at best. I tried to capture it, but the texture on the box makes it seem less colorful in the photo (new box on the right, 2011 Gilead Media on the left). The packaging is really nice. I like the black band, but the color they chose for the font makes it hard to see the LP1 on the spine. I guess I'll use the copper one since these are lined up in a series
  2. Touch and Go has not been able to keep up with anything well. Their website still functions like one built in the 90s. Their catalog is too important not to be in print. I would love for someone like Numero or Temporary Residence to acquire their catalog.
  3. The new song is gorgeous. I'm really looking forward to this. Grid of Points was okay, but felt a little weak as a follow up to Ruins, which I adored.
  4. I mean, Boris is basically two or three bands depending on which mood they are in, but if you like Boris, that doesn't necessarily mean you will like Boris.
  5. If they do include everything, I might be tempted to grab it and sell the OG box just to satisfy my OCD. If it's just the album, I'll probably convince myself that I'm okay with: LP1 LP2 LP3 LP4 LP6 on my shelf
  6. I wonder if the box for Ten Stories will just have the album cut at 45rpm, and not include all the extra stuff from the OG box.
  7. oh, I guess I don't have to worry about missing out on this press since it's the same as 2014. A tiny bit bummed, but my wallet is happier.
  8. This track is better than anything from the last two albums. It feels like an actual progression from Major/Minor. I'm back in.
  9. LOLWTF this band. Aside from all the standard Glassjaw nonsense, don't forget that these are all going to sound like poo on single LPs.
  10. The apex of any music debate is truly when the conversation devolves to homophobic insults...
  11. I like the new song. Dan's drumming is great, and I can't wait to hear this entire record. I don't get the sense that they are doing something to get a specific reaction from listeners. It sounds completely genuine, and I hope they keep making music that makes them excited.
  12. Did they ever really have the metal purists though? It seems like people (especially black metal aficionados) were always snarky about Deafheaven and how they're categorized. I agree that the new material should still fit nicely with their older songs in a set list. Sonically it's similar, and it should give George's voice a break. I'm sure he's still going to be as theatrical with the new songs though.
  13. Gerken filled in for them before, and that was originally planned for more than just a temp fill in; Bryan had stepped away. Bryan was a huge part of their sound, and I loved the guy. I don't see Hum doing anything new anytime soon, (even regular Hum timeline is glacial), but I wouldn't rule out anything in the future.
  14. Devastating. Bryan was such a nice guy. I can't wrap my head around this.
  15. I was wondering about this too. I assumed anything after that first 500 would be sometime later this summer.
  16. I'm happy I was able to grab a black deluxe, and even know I had a feeling they wouldn't do it, I'm still bummed the deluxe didn't include a vinyl pressing of the [A->B] Live. I would have happily paid more for a more expansive box.
  17. Yeah, this is going to take a bunch of listens I think for it to click. After a couple listens, I'm not in love with it as much as Audio Noir, but there is some solid stuff here.
  18. I have the OG black. It sounds fine. No major problems.
  19. the latest teaser has an embedded image of Brother, Sister. Must be a tour: https://www.instagram.com/p/CQI_PkjAzTY/
