This is one reason why I hate living in LA. There are people who professionally stake out goodwills and garage sales every day for things like this, and every jagoff on craigslist thinks their Sony TA-AX380 is worth $200. My buddy who lives in Indianapolis scores deals all the time and I am always jealous.

I still can't believe they moved these at $35 each. I want to own S/T, but I refuse to give anyone $35 for a single fucking LP. Fucking #jenkins.

I'm sure this has to have been mentioned somewhere, and if it has then I apologize but don't feel like reading 74 pages....

im sure they were just overwhelmed at how many people actually placed orders. Theres a lot of people here but after receiving major coverage they must have like 100k orders on backlog. i got tired of waiting for the production to overcome this and just ordered one so i would get it before the summer. Yes the Carbon is a great piece but at this price, its fully worth it to wait for am orbit. waiting will suck but im sure i did the good thing.

Just fyi if anyone is on the fence about buying Self-Titled it's down to less then 70 copies (3eb announced this the other day). I bought one like two weeks ago and received it about 5 days later, so maybe they stepped up their game in shipping things out? 

I don't think they got the memo that the week of 2/24 was last week....

Wonder when KRM is gonna send out LOAP and PBP....waiting eagerly for those to hit my doorstep. 

No prob man. I believe No Idea has been repressing this at least once a year for past couple years. I got a half-half split from HT for $11 a couple years back. It's almost always in stock I think.

i have a denon 300f. Fully automatic and it wont break the bank. I think it sounds great. My advice is dont get caught up in the "audiophile" hype. If it sounds good to you, then thats all that really matters

Here's something I absolutely WISH would come out. Smoke green 12" vinyl; 180 gram probably. In place of that awful Styrofoam remix, we get the remaining Trombino session songs (Jen and Sparkle... side note only Jen was never officially released. Sparkle was a UK b-side.) I touched up the cover a bit, made the artist/title a bit smaller as it would be huge on a 12". Also got rid of the dodgy Parental Advisory. Made a lyric insert with band photo on the opposite side.

What if someone made a suitcase record player that WASN'T crap? Take the Orbit, put it in a suitcase, have the option of running the signal through an onboard preamp and powered speakers (with the ability to remove the speakers to isolate them from the table), but also include the option to connect the TT to your own preamp/amp. Replace the crappy plastic tonearm and ceramic cart with something that won't suck. You could even include an acrylic platter that you remove during travel and tether to the top of the suitcase or something like that.
 
Yes it would be a little more expensive and a little heavier, but I'm sure there is a way to get the best of both worlds when it comes to quality, portability, and hipsterdom. We could cut down on the ignorance that comes from people comparing the sound quality from their Crosley played Fun. album and the file they listen to on itunes.

In all seriousness, I've noticed a similar issue with a lot of the records I've purchased recently. Not so much a scuff, but definitely something stuck on there. Maybe we are buying from the same plant? It doesn't affect playback either, but it sort of smells mustardy.

Oh wow. geez, is my face red or what?? My sincerest apologies if I have offended you guys by owning a record player. I have clearly embarrassed myself in front of the wrong people, seeing as your posts here make it blatantly clear that the members of this forum are the supreme dictators of the global record industry. Does it take up a lot of your time to make all the rules as to who is allowed to own what record player? This knowledge must have taken years of practise to acquire. 
 
Furthermore, at fifteen years old, unfortunately I cannot afford the thousand-dollar record players that you guys evidently hold so dearly to your heart, as I only work for six hours a week. However it is now my life goal to one day buy a better record player, in the hope that I can finally gain the approval of random people on the internet that I have never even met.
 
In the mean time, I suppose I will just have to fill up the rest of my life with other, more trivial interests. Maybe my girlfriend can help to take my mind off things. You guys should actually try one, they're pretty good!!
