I'm super psyched for my job interview tomorrow! Can I get some internet high fives or something? (I don't actually need any internet high fives, it's the thought that counts)

Got me a job interview, yessir I did.

I just discovered Natalie Prass earlier this evening, and I gotta say, her self-titled album gets two thumbs waaaay up. Album of the year so far. I know that doesn't mean much since it's just February, but holy shit, it's gonna be hard to beat this one for me.

DAMMIT. These had to go up for pre-order now. Right after I spent $50 on the MCR represses. Oh well, THE HOBBY or whatever. Also, I'm not actually that bothered about the Two Lefts vinyl being white for some reason. I think it's a good fit for the artwork, and most of my white records sound fine to me, so we'll just have to see.

So right now there's a mix of rain and sleet outside, and every ten or fifteen minutes I either hear what sounds like tree branches breaking and falling (or entire trees, apparently, because that happened on the other side of town earlier tonight) or power lines snapping/electrical boxes exploding. Further proof that Georgia is not adequately equipped for winter weather, even if it's not snow. (in all honesty it's pretty creepy hearing all of that stuff)

I've always had a soft spot for Passion Pit (I have and regularly enjoy both albums and Chunk of Change); I dunno what it is about them, but I can't help but to like almost every song I've heard from them. That said, I'm probably not gonna pre-order this, especially considering how easy it was to find Gossamer for like two years after it came out.

Picked up my copies from my HT earlier this afternoon! The girl who got my order from the back said their stock completely sold out the day they went onto the shelves, so no luck at the Mall of Georgia HT for anyone looking for either album. (They did have a ton of stuff on clearance, though, so it's still worth stepping inside for a few minutes.)

You never know unless you ask, right?

Happiness is actually my favorite of theirs, followed by Acceptance Speech and then DMBII. I think the main reason why I don't like the first two albums nearly as much as the more recent ones is because Jon's screaming voice was awful. Like, real awful. Especially on Deathstar. Although, it did get better on DBMII, and waaaay better on Acceptance Speech. I'm glad he didn't change it up again on the new album, from what we've heard so far.

Oh wow, I totally thought my order had shipped on Tuesday but I just got my shipping notification email yesterday (and noticed it today, since it didn't get sent to my primary email address). Guess I shouldn't put too much trust in my HT account, right? That said, I'm glad nothing was cancelled from my order, and I wasn't in any rush to get these anyway, so it's all good. I'm still just happy to finally have them.

I got two plays earlier this evening. I know the odds are like 1:200,000,000 but it's still hella fun to play when the jackpot is this high.

Every time I read through a thread that has a ton of posts that say "ugh my order got cancelled," I always think back to the Oldies sale and the seafoam green TDAGARIM threads. Ahh, good times. (That said, it's really unfortunate to hear that so many people's orders got cancelled! I'm going to ATL this weekend, and if by some act of God the HT in Mall of Georgia has any copies leftover, I'll grab one or two and ask around.)
