  1. Wuxtry Records in Athens. It's super chill, and they're pretty good about having as many exclusives as they possibly can. The crowd is generally civil as well. Three good RSD experiences in a row there so far, going for a fourth this year.
  2. This. My store opens at 10:00; I'm there at 8:30 every year, and I'm almost always 7th or 8th in line. Well, usually the first ten or twelve people who get there just stand around talking in a blob but then once more people get there, we sort ourselves single file based on who got there when. It's surprisingly chill.
  3. (with luck this will be the only stupid post I make in this thread)
  4. I get through RSD on the boards by reading, laughing, up/downvoting, and most importantly, not posting very much until I take a picture of what I got at the store. Also, I don't listen to BN, so the Deja thread(s) have been funnier to me than anything else. Speaking of, this'll be my third RSD as a VC regular. A very important anniversary, indeed.
  5. I think I just had another anxiety attack. I should probably go see someone about this sooner rather than later.
  6. The UO vinyl clearance bin is where I got my copy of Oshin about a year ago. Haven't seen a copy for sale anywhere else since then. But at the very least, that means it's possible to find another copy hidden in a UO somewhere. Keep looking, and good luck!
  7. Holy shit, I'm even more excited for this album now. To me, the new song sounds like a combination of Strawberry Swisher, Honey Revenge, and Buffalo!, but it also has a DBMII feel to it somehow. It'll probably work its way into my top ten DGD songs pretty quickly. AND it's the opening track! What a great way to set the mood for the rest of the album. God. It's like everything they touch turns into gold.
  8. Just Rossz Csillag Alatt Szuletett, but I'd be surprised if your shop has it, since it's arguably his most well-known/popular album. (If it does, though, lemme know and we can work something out)
  9. Apparently the Venetian Snares represses are only gonna be in Europe. Am sad. I've already posted in the request thread, though, so let's hope someone comes through with a copy.
  10. It just occurred to me earlier today that the Venetian Snares represses might be Europe-only, seeing as how they aren't anywhere on the US list, so if a European bruh comes across a copy of Rossz Csillag Alatt Szuletett and is willing to send it over, I'd be super grateful (and might even be able to grab something for you in return). That's really the only thing I think I'll have a hard time getting this year.
  11. Mine was the Best Coast / Wavves split 7" they sold on their winter tour in 2011, which I got signed by Bobb Bruno after the show. It was a total impulse buy, and I went another nine months before starting to actively buy records: the show was in January and I bought my second record in October that same year, right after my roommate at the time got a turntable to put in our dorm room. First colored record was either Best Coast - Crazy For You (seafoam green) or TFOT - In The Unlikely Event (mint green). Damn. I can't believe I've been buying records for four years now.
  12. Okay, looks like my list has been finalized: Goldfrapp - Felt Mountain OPN - Commissions II Shugo Tokumaru - Night Piece and L.S.T Venetian Snares - Rossz Csillag Alatt Született The only one I'm even slightly concerned about finding is the Venetian Snares album, since there are only gonna be 500 copies of it and it's one of his more well-known/popular albums, but other than that, it should be pretty easy finding the others.
  13. Oh shit! Totally worth $10. (My order came out to $12.67 total! Bless Carpark and everything they do.)
  14. If I was still not sure whether or not to go this year, Polyvinyl got me for sure with the Shugo Tokumaru stuff. Looks like my list so far is both Tokumaru albums, OPN's Commissions II, one of the Venetian Snares represses (if that's for sure happening), and the Goldfrapp repress. Also, possibly that ETID 7", but we'll just have to see. Guess I'd better start saving up now.
  15. Christ, if CT is all about the money then why don't they just whip up some new cover art and repress the damn thing? Makes way more money than selling a personal copy for $50 on Discogs or whatever.
  16. Good to see others giving this album some love. It was one of my favorite albums of 2013, but almost nobody I know listened to it. Actually, I rarely ever see anyone talk about it at all for some reason, haha. Back on topic, I already mentioned these in the UO thread, but from the clearance section in my "local" UO: Iceage - New Brigade Cloud Nothings - Cloud Nothings
  17. Went to the UO at Lenox Square in ATL today, and while there aren't any clearance markdowns, they had a shit-ton of fantastic albums for $10, which definitely caught me by surprise. I got Iceage - New Brigade and Cloud Nothings' self-titled album; if I'd had more cash on me, I would have bought three or four other things that I've wanted for a while but can't justify paying full price because I'm a shitty person.
  18. God dammit, I thought I was gonna be in the clear, but Oneohtrix Point Never is doing Commissions II, Venetian Snares is (apparently) reissuing Rossz Csillag Alatt Szuletett, and I'd love to have that Goldfrapp album and possibly the ETID 7" if I see it, so it looks like I'm gonna go ahead and get in line again this year. At least most of the things I want aren't "big ticket items," or at least I don't think they are. The good thing about my local store is that the line is never really that bad; I got to the shop at about 8:30 last year (opens at 10:00) and was ninth or tenth in line, and I got everything I wanted in one trip. Also, the folks who go for RSD here are usually pretty civil about it, which makes for a much more pleasant experience.
  19. Just gave it a second listen, and it's very slowly growing on me. VERY slowly. I will say, though, stranger than earth has quickly become one of my favorite Purity Ring tracks period. If the whole album had the same feel as that particular track, I'd be so much more into it.
  20. 16Shells speaks the truth. I thought it was pretty underwhelming overall, but I wouldn't mind buying it down the road, once I have more of my must-haves.
  21. Your virtual high five did not go in vein. (the interview went as well as it could have gone, I'll know for sure within a few weeks)
  22. I don't even listen to Brand New, I just wanted to post in a Brand New thread.
  23. If this thread doesn't have at least ten pages by the time I wake up in eight hours I will be so disappointed.
