Axl Rose re-invented yet again!
melikecheese replied to sgoodcore's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Does anyone ever feel like Against Me! is taking them to the cleaners and fleecing them of their money by simply repressing everything on 10 different colors? -
You can download every single Brian Jonestown Massacre album and some shows here: http://www.brianjonestownmassacre.com/mp3.html You need to scroll, it almost looks like there is only 1 or 2 albums, frames....at the bottom there are smaplers and other bands to download too.

OK so I got a copy of Comets On Fire/ Major Stars - Live in Europa LP which is released on Plastic Records (PR001). I know its 500 copies only but I have a clear blue pressing and not a black pressing like some photos I have seen. Its a stretch but maybe one of you will know it, I've searched all I can. Thanks!

‘Too Pretty’ College Students Escorted From Flight
melikecheese replied to jhulud's topic in Everything Else Message Board
Southwest has shown a pattern of this type of behavior. Those girls probably didn't do anything, just like the last 3 women they kicked off flights or made cover up with a blanket. -
Sigur Ros 7xLP box set marked down at Insound
melikecheese replied to scottheisel's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Remember the move after V2 went under? While I am sure it was easy for Mr White to throw his demands around at other smaller/midsize labels, I don't think WB went along without some demands of their own. Something tells me these were one of them. But on the plus side props to WB for allowing short run vinyl presses for them too. -

What are you going to with your $600
melikecheese replied to kirbypuckett's topic in Everything Else Message Board
You will pay taxes on the 600 like its 600 of income. You won't have to pay back 600 bucks when you do your taxes next year, just wanna make that clear. Its not like a loan, its free income but you must pay taxes on your income. I will be adding $400 to it an be opening a new mutual fund. -

Post pictures of your favourite sleeve/record art!
melikecheese replied to minty's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
I will edit this with some pictures later but Menomena's Friend or Foe LP has these all beat. A triple gatefold with 6 sides packed to the brim with nice art, very complex, you can stare at it for hours. The best thing about it is the cover. It has a wheel under the jacket that you spin and holes cut in the front make things appear and disappear, it lists the tracks and the track number, its really a piece of work. I never had a fave or anything close until I got this. Oh yeah and its all sold out. -
whats wrong with your scene?
melikecheese replied to ericheartsu's topic in Everything Else Message Board
with the exception of missing a 400 to 600 person venue now there is nothing wrong. Columbus is finally getting noticed for its amazing and HUGE music scene. Just this past month we have been all over pitchfork, NME had some articles on some bands from the town too, not too shabby. The hip hop scene gets a lot of press as well. The only bad part, a weak psych scene. and we got a great blog/forum to keep everyone connected www.donewaiting.com -
Recent discovery: The Big Sleep
melikecheese replied to ronniethebear's topic in Everything Else Message Board
I am a big Big Sleep fan. I too wish they would press some stuff. They will be back in town march 20th and I will not be missing it, so glad they are doing another headlining spot and not just hitting town to open for those other 2 bands they are touring with. I also need to get to the store for the new album! -
buying to flip vs. buying to trade...
melikecheese replied to andrews's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
I will buy to flip if I can make at least double what I paid and at least 20 bucks. I buy a lot of stuff from overseas so with the cost of a USD these days I buy extra to make up for it. -
Record you listen to most while drinking
melikecheese replied to cadetapplesauce's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
mmmmm, when just drinking its White Stripes, Black Lips, the Lindsey or any garage rock, the lo-fi stuff I guess...when the green comes out with the drinks I tend to go for Secret Machines, Besnard Lakes, Acid Mothers Temple, Dead Meadow, the stuff with more layers, increased range of tones and tempos, spacey, more open kinda stuff. -
BLACK LIPS - Hippys +1 (7") KING KHAN - Ain't It Sad +1 (7") REATARD, JAY - I Know A Place +1 (7") REATARD, JAY - In The Dark +2 (7") (5 euro for a 7" that sold for 100 USD on ebay, niceeee) REATARDS - Bedroom Disasters (LP) REATARDS - Grown Up Fucked Up (LP) REATARDS - I Lie Too + 2 (7") REATARDS - Plastic Surgery (7") SONIC CHICKEN 4 - Don´t Let Me Down +1 (7") obscure euro distros that are all in another language are great. Sure I spent a ton of money ordering all (all but 1) US records from overseas but hey why not!

can you guys log into paypal?
melikecheese replied to cadetapplesauce's topic in Everything Else Message Board
Its a shame that pretty much all online distribs and labels only use PayPal, I wish they used 2Checkout instead. -

anyone ever buy anything from gemm?
melikecheese replied to radioclash27's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
i do the same thing. prices are usually $2-$3 cheaper if you visit the actual store website. some things are waaay overpriced but you can find some real bargains sometimes. Yeah I shop here more then anywhere else now, the selection is amazing and I can find some awesome deals. Yeah some sellers will add a surcharge, just don't buy from them. GEMM does not add that surcharge, its the seller. I find its better to browse by seller, some sellers are pricey, some are dirt cheap. -
