  1. ^ajxd....my opinion on the bike was that its hideous! my comment on gear was a bit dickish (was prawlly a bit drunk)....implying hes a weekend warrior that spends 2 grand or more on a ride that he doesnt need. lebowski asks for opinions in a cycling thread but he seemed to already have his mind made up on carbon fiber. no cycling police here i just love bikes and hate to see people buy a bike thats not really suited for them. as i see them everyday on the road/trails. people are free to buy what they want.
  2. The Builders and the Butchers? I`ve always described them as southern goth rock/revival anyway. gonna checkout the above bands. like what i am hearing.
  3. ^if you are near a REI and catch them during a sale u could pickup something decent in that price range as well.
  4. that thing is hideous! You gonna drop another grand on spandex/gear? The dude would not abide.
  5. which albums? My local has a few in the bins. I always notice when im searching for Tosca. Happy to look next time I'm there.
  6. I ordered some CDs and DVDs Saturday and just got shipping confirmation this morning. So I don't expect these lps til next week.
  7. Went back for Thievery Corps - Cosmic Game & the Richest Man in Babylon. $14 each
  8. Picked up Les claypool-purple onion,of whales and woe, four foot shack Rocky horror picture show Patti smith-banga Dino Jr - I bet on sky And one more I can't recall at the moment Would of been a lot more but some LPs wouldn't discount.

  10. Led Zeppelin - live at the BBC. Game over. Locke thread
  11. The set sounds great......the MP3s of the full concert are out there. Yeah it was 45 to 60 on amazon for the longest time. Good luck
  12. I am 6ft and can ride a 56cm comfortable with the right handlebar and stem combo. So that's not necessarily an indicator. Neither is a blind purchase based on price. You need hands on research.
  13. Gohastings is running a 40% off sale on used media. Code..daylightsavings i picked up some arcade fire CDs. A band I slept on originally but enjoyed neon bible very much. They reminded me of echo and the bunnymen! A favorite of mine
  14. I have revolver. The recent re issue (stereo). Listened once so like new. I Dont see it getting much play.
  15. One of my top 5 80s movies fur sure. Usually watch this as a double feature with one crazy summer.
  16. ^yes good advice about ebay. test rides are best. also i would avoid bikes direct as well. they are cheap but a quality carbon fiber with quality components wont be had for under 1500$. If i ever do upgrade it will be a three speed salsa cassorole. Or maybe a internal geared hub like alfine or rohloff. But that's for when I'm a old fart.
  17. have you ever ridden a carbon fiber bike? or steel? and no! a quality made 'lightweight' steel bike isnt that heavy. how does it compare? well thats up to you. i suggest some test rides at your LBS. ive been riding since i was four. aluminuim/carbon fiber/steel/and i even rode a bamboo bike! For me steel is the best ride out there. but thats me be a man lebowski! put some steel between your legs and see what its all about. but dont test ride some heavy steel bike from sears from the 80s and say its too heavy.
  18. ^cant go wrong with lightweight steel! (surly, soma, salsa) i have a surly steamroller (singlespeed) and i pass guys all day long on bikes that you linked above. also if you need phat (or studded) tires for winteryou have options with surly..etc.. a new surly cross check (with gears ) is around $1100 new carbon fiber is nice but is overkill for your needs.
  19. ^lanegans - hawk......is that recent??? That was one of my gotos back in the day but was pulled long ago. So I thought
  20. Not a fan but I found a semi sealed copy of Thursdays war all the time for a buck. That's the newest record I have ever seen in a goodwill. I do find a number of old classical LPs from Nonesuch on the cheap here.
  21. Save yourself $200 and go the used marantz route. I have the cd-20 and 30. Also a dual deck for burning. They were all bought for 20 to 30 bucks each.
