  1. You really can't. Let me guess, it's New Jersey? Well this happens to me all the time. It says it's somewhere, but really it's in transit has happened to me a lot lately. It's already confirmed that it's shipped. So you're ok there. You can call the post office of where it's "stuck"
  2. In Eastern philosophy there is a practice of "dualism" or "yin and yang" as we know it in the Western world. If you want the 2m Blue because it matches the color of your table that is fine, but if it's a downgrade for you, then it doesn't matter. Logically because 1. you are interested in the color. There is a certain feel and connection to what we percieve and what we admire. In this case you like blue (I assume) So with dualism, the 2m Blue upgrade isn't a bad upgrade for you. 2. If it is an upgrade from another cartridge this serves as a double positive for you. Admired color + better quality=pleasure.
  3. Captured Tracks has shipped Pre-Orders! (Supposedly, according to their e-mail they sent me this morning)
  4. Haha that's interesting considering the OP mentioned he might never order from them again. I agree though ton of good bands. My only trouble with them was when I ordered the Crafts Spells LP. They had to refund me, and I had to wait until they got back from SXSW last year. My beef was it should've never been listed FS to begin with. Haha. Oh well ordering again. Here's a photo
  5. For anyone with bad Captured Tracks experience. Care to reiterate on their service in trying to fix the situation?
  6. I own them in white. They are nice small compact and sturdy. They feel like high quality speakers. This is to say when you hold them you can tell the design and engineering went through plenty of trial and error. Great foam underneath. They come packaged sweetly each getting their own protective case. They sound pretty good. Medium high treble, Low tone and Warm mids is how I would describe it's default range. They pack a punch for small little guys, perfect for apartment settings. Great minimalist look. Recommended for on the go as well as small room/apartment setting.
  7. Which LPs if you don't mind me asking? Also, did you take it to their customer service? I know they run an extremely small tight knit crew.
  8. 1. Shoot a Photo of the Outside of the Store 2. Name & Location of the Store 2.5 What Genre You're Most Likely to Find 3. (Additional Photos Optional) 4. (Post Multiple Favorite Stores, Local or Well Known!)
  9. I agree with your anticipated records getting high priced, but hey I'm sure if musicians had it their way, all music would be free, and there would no fee to pay printers, pressers, labels, etc and world hunger would've been solved.
  10. Anyone interested in the purple "life of leisure" ? I'm trying to buy a rickenbacker and might consider a good price. BTW I'm going to say PARACOSM is the most intuitive, thoughtful Washed Out record to date. He's truly grown as a musician. Like seriously, it's a tropical magical trip but his use of solid/hazy synth makes for a mature sound and doesn't touch cheesy at all. I really hope the green isn't electric green :/ I want some white swirls! Man, the regular one is going to be pressed on maroon. That is awesome enough! Oh well, I guess we scored a free 7".
  11. Just for more space. In case I want to set my laptop down and record the vinyl digitally. Technically for most yes but like ticotico mentioned they are small speakers + I live in an apartment so I don't blast them. Before set up I took a cup of water, placed it on the turntable and cranked the speakers to see any vibrations. The threshold before noticeable vibration in my case is 3/4 up. I have to give credit to the foam underneath both the speakers and the turntable.
  12. One of the most overlooked albums of 2013 imo. Still a bunch available on Discogs.com and Reckless.com and eBay.com http://www.discogs.com/sell/list?release_id=4448552&ev=rb In case you missed him on Letterman http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Lu-LaDJHy8
  13. If you are wanting the vinyl edition of Albert Hammond Jr.s "Yours to Keep" demand it! http://www.roughtraderecords.com/about/ Just write a quick excerpt up to 2 sentences saying you've been waiting for this repress and the time has come with his newest EP coming out via Cult Records. Consumer power! Unite!
  14. My advice is see how you like your original platter. Then if you figure you're more and more interested with the acrylic platter, go for it, turn it into the Esprit! The good thing is, it runs about 99$ and hey, if you don't notice a huge difference in sound, you could always return the platter. (I'd recommend http://www.needledoctor.com if you can't find any on eBay with a good return policy) It's a nice look, it weighs less than the metal platter and the better your speakers, the more of a slight difference you'll hear. From most forums I've read, people claim to have a better mid-range clarity, while one user said it was much duller than his glass platter. One user even mentioned bass clarity and no more floor noise. Good luck! and as always have fun!
  15. @stevie You're right, I was being sensitive. @ajxd I'm sorry for blowing things out of proportion.
  16. Listen, I understand, you feel like you need to be in control all the time and need to feel like you're always correct but.. I've watched many videos that explain in detail (this) or (that) and many where you can hear the difference or even times when a pro audio engineer explains the difference in audio frequency. Your petty opinion isn't going to affect what I'm looking for. Why even bother answering half-heartedly and doesn't answer what the OP is asking? I don't get it, why do trolls waste so much time. When you state things like, "There is zero chance..." You are using illogical reasoning/expression because in fact, there is a chance that it can be produced if recorded correctly. I've seen, and heard it before. The fact that I posted, "I can't find a "vs" video on YouTube" is besides the point of the OP. If you're feeling pretentious enough to comment in a derogatory fashion you got my attention, and you spun the thread the wrong way. This was meant for actual owners of the 2m Blue to answer with prior experience of the 2m Red, not elitist here sayers :( :( Anyways, thanks for trying to help out.
  17. "... a vs video on youtube? Really people do that? Is this real life?" Relax, it's 2013. People with technology do shootouts, vs, compare and contrast all the time on YouTube.
