Guest scriptedrain
I would like to own a Russian Circles one (among other bands, but just from what you posted). I never see band-related ones, though. - Jeff
ronniethebear
Pelican had one with preoders for City Of Echoes on vinyl. Second Nature Records have one in the BCD store, I think.
mrc
is it that common for bands to make slip mats? i think i remember seeing a rage against the machine one a few years back but that was it.

That was packaged with a limited number of The Battle Of Los Angeles LPs.

sgoodcore
Thinking about getting a slipmat from Swami. what is a slip mat? It goes over the part of your turntable where you place the record to play to keep it as dust free as possible.

chiefwahoo
what is a slip mat? I could be wrong, but I thought they were primarily for DJs for scratching and whatnot.
ronniethebear
what is a slip mat? I could be wrong, but I thought they were primarily for DJs for scratching and whatnot. Exactly. If you're only playing to listen, they pretty much lose their functionality.

monk0nuggets
I don't have one to trade, but I did pick up one of the City Of Echoes preorder slipmats. It is slick. There are pics of it in a thread about the new turntable I got. Also, I love how many Wu-tang references I've seen on this board.

If you're only playing to listen, they pretty much lose their functionality. Actually, thats not true. Cheap felt mats are basically there for dust/scratch protection, but there are other materials out there that actually aid in the sound quality through extra dampening, etc. Granted, if you're using a cheap table played through cheap speakers and stuff (as I am), then dropping $75+ on a slip mat won't really make much of a difference. However, after you've upgraded to higher quality components (table, speakers, amp, pre-amp, etc) then this can be a worthwhile 'tweak' to your system.
