markok
Fuck, price is insane, but I still ordered.
The Vool
Fuck, price is insane, but I still ordered. £33.49 to Germany...which is around 43€! ...meh... There's also a /300 on red vinyl on Nuclear Blast...with shipping (to Germany), it's 29€...but I'll have to listen to it beforehand because I really disliked their latest output! Ron Don Volante
So is 180 gram the standard? Like is that what they will have on amazon?
markok
Is the EU and US press different (vinyl cut)? According to discogs, the EU press should have this in the dead wax: Matrix / Runout (Side A): 0016861757311 A Matrix / Runout (Side : 0016861757311 B Matrix / Runout (Side C): 0016861757311 C Matrix / Runout (Side D): 0016861757311 D What about the US press? Thanks.
kannibal
US press is delayed. Roadrunner said it ship this Tuesday. Deluxe box and cd are not delayed, just the LP. Roadrunner stopped using Pallas, so EU should be a different cut.
simonldt
I'm assuming it will be same as with Heritage, where the US and EU releases had different presses. I've got both and they sound the same so the master should be the same. EU was pressed by Optimal, can't remember about the US one but it does have a different deadwax. Still waiting on my PC order, plus it's bank holiay here monday so doubt I will get it for release now (ordered from stereoboutique). valve
Any place to buy the color vinyl in the US?
simonldt
Got both of my copies today (US black and EU colour). Both have the same deadwax info so they're from the same press. Pressed by MPO and it has the initials SST followed by a squiggle that looks a bit like this - WVVV. It does sound great and all 4 of mine are flat and pretty much quiet. Aealo
Got mine black EU copy with signed print today but I cant find any numbering like its said on their website
morfiend
Received my black copy in the mail today. Although I'm not a huge fan of the band's direction since Watershed this is still a solid release and an upgrade over Heritage. The production sounds great, especially the sound of the drums, which reminds me of Damnation at times.
Tiltar
Sounds like no plans to carry this in your shop morfiend?
GhostTrail
It's widely available in the states. Amazon has it for $24. Also, just noticing the album title is wrong in the topic name haha.
kannibal
I still haven't received any notice from Roadrunner on the LP. What's happening?
morfiend
Sounds like no plans to carry this in your shop morfiend? I'll have some eventually. My distributor shipped my most recent order without giving me the chance to add some on first. Thanks for checking though, I appreciate it. oojavaguru
Also, just noticing the album title is wrong in the topic name haha. Fixed. Sorry about that. Surprised nobody else said anything since this was posted back in June...heh.
Larm73
I bought the deluxe box set without checking the description carefully. It has a picture of 3 lp I just assumed it was the album, but just a few 7 inches. Anybody interested in buying it from me? Same price I paid 55 cdn plus shipping. It's still sealed. I should have also read earlier posts in this thread as that was pointed out earlier lol.
The Vool
So, guys...haven't listened to the album; how is it? Didn't like Heritage, is it better?
kannibal
It is better, but that is subjective. Where Heritage was more experimental, this album is way more 70's prog, to the point where it's almost a tribute album. Songwriting wise, it most resembles Ghost Reveries, but without the thick, compressed heavy metal guitars and a lot more organ. No growls, and even some layered, harmonized vocals. Despite my wishing that in a few places, a heavy rhythm guitar took over instead of the organ, the album is very good, and after a few listens easily became one of my top Opeth albums. shaizada
Guys, how is the quality of the vinyl pressing for you? I've gone through two copies and the vinyl quality is poor....rice krispies in most quiet parts plus tics all spread around randomly. No amount of cleaning helped. If there are quiet pressings out there, I will likely keep pursuing it till I get a good copy. Else, I won't bother and live with what I have.
