gmoney
New Amazon listing for December 9. Listed as an import and a little pricey, but this is good news. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NBXYBSU/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B00NBXYBSU&linkCode=as2&tag=kersjour-20&linkId=XGKZQD6AS5L2W2WS
jhulud
I celebrate Shai Hulud's entire catalog. BUT. This is a bit overboard. Almost 40$ for a 3-song EP? Unless it's the reissue w/ the original EP and all the tracks from their splits and compilations they've been on.
Guest
Why not reissue "Hearts Once Nourished?"
jerseydave77
Odds that Juan buys it no matter what? ha ha. Crazy price.

bermudanc94
I want to assume this is the LP version, not the 3 song EP. Either way, both are available for less than $40. http://www.discogs.com/Shai-Hulud-A-Profound-Hatred-Of-Man/release/2171981
somethingvinyl
Even though it sucks sound-wise, isn't the picture disc widely available?
hallowken78
For Black Friday 2014, Revelation Records will be releasing, for the first time ever, Shai Hulud's "A Profound Hatred Of Man" and "Hearts Once Nourished With Hope And Compassion" together as a 2xLP with a gatefold cover. It will be limited to 1,000 copies and on grey marble vinyl. Look for it on Friday, November 28th.
jhulud
This pleases me very much now. Hopefully REV will have online sales b/c I am not stepping out of the house, or rather work, to deal with the RSDBF crowds and nonsense.

jhulud
Do they usually offer their RSD titles online? Yes and no. Sometimes the offer a few before the RSD day. Lately I've seen "leftovers" go up online after the RSD. hallowken78
Gippej
Sorry to derail the thread a bit, but lately I have been getting into hardcore (thanks to this board and converge mainly). Where is the best place to start with this band? I have heard nothin but good things about them and almost all of their albums are cheap on vinyl. jhulud
Start at the beginning: A Profound Hatred Of Man Hearts Once Nourished with Hope and Compassion That Within Blood Ill-Tempered Misanthropy Pure Reach Beyond The Sun All their splits are solid. Reach Beyond the Sun is a great place to start, it's the most accessible record they have IMO. First and second albums are great as well, I'd stay away from misanthropy pure till the end though. Gippej
Thanks guys, from the brief clips I heard I actually was really digging misanthropy, but I'll pick up the LPs in order and maybe that combo pack for RSD
Gippej
I was just doing a bit of reading up on this band. Crazy how many line up changes they have gone through. Almost a new band every album.
mclz
How much is the pic disc LP worth? Saw this at my local store for $12 yesterday.
Crabwalker
You only need to listen to hearts once nourished and that within Check out the splits and ignore the rest of catalogue.
xtobi-wanx
Hope they'll have it online. Looking at the recent availability of Hulud Vinyl, 1000 copies should last a while.
GHOSTDRONES
Personally, I am hoping they eventually release the demo with Damien Moyal singing. Love his vocals. Would love to see it out on record.

That'd be nice. For the time being I guess we'll have to settle on the CD comp of old tracks and demos: A Comprehensive Retrospective Or: How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Release Bad And Useless Recordings. http://revhq.com/store.revhq?Page=search&Id=REV128

I think I listen to this the most of all the worm's records Someday the 1st 6 songs will make a great 12" EP.
hallowken78
So is it safe to assume the re-release of Profound Hatred will be the one from about 10 years or so ago that included all of the songs from the various splits?

Yes. It's essentially the two pic discs from a long-ass time ago that were also on the two CDs. Now just as a handy-dandy 2xLP in a gatefold.
