ratbrain
is this a new studio album? i wasn't expecting this It sure is. Saw them twice last week and heard a handful of new songs, very different from the usual B&S -- imagine the shock of seeing Stuart Murdoch strap on a keytar -- but not in a bad way. I think this is going to be their "party" record. davepriz
ratbrain
I was just looking at the tracklists for the different vinyl versions on the B&S site and they're crazy different. Not just the bonus tracks but the running order, too. 2LP Side 1 1. Nobody's Empire 2. Allie 3. The Party Line Side 2 1. The Power Of Three 2. The Cat With The Cream 3. Enter Sylvia Plath Side 3 1. The Everlasting Muse 2. Perfect Couples 3. Ever Had A Little Faith? Side 4 1. Play For Today 2. The Book Of You 3. Today (This Army's For Peace) Box set Side 1 1. The Party Line Side 2 1. The Everlasting Muse 2. The Power Of Three 3. Today (This Army's For Peace) Side 3 1. Enter Sylvia Plath Side 4 1. Born To Act 2. Two Birds 3. Ever Had A Little Faith? (Extended Version) Side 5 1. Play For Today Side 6 1. Nobody's Empire 2. Piggy In The Middle 3. The Book Of You Side 7 1. Perfect Couples (Extended Version) Side 8 1. Allie 2. A Politician's Silence 3. The Cat With The Cream

ExtraFox
I've been in conatct with Matador UK (as previous B&S UK releases have been on Rough Trade). They are putting this out and the box set will be available in stores.

ExtraFox
Any pressing info? Cheers, Nils I didn't ask as it would've been a silly question if they weren't pressing it. I'll see what they say.
ExtraFox
we're still confirming the numbers, but would expect this will sell out within a few months of release.

nelso330
$35? I was like shit thats the cheapest 4xLP I've seen in a long time. $45 is more like it! Will defiantly get the box set, have to keep my B&S collection complete.
aphasias
The thought a $35 4lp boxed set seemed like a no-brainer... Until I realized that the 2 additional lps only get you 4 additional tracks and spread out the tracklisting in a fashion that is guaranteed to discourage me from listening to the album. I'll be going with the standard edition. simonsj

unknown pleasures
$10 is a big increase for a $35 item. I wouldn't be surprised if this can be had for cheaper down the road.
jbrana
Amazon has a limited edition box set up for pre-order now. It's listed as a Hostess Entertainment release, which I believe is their Japanese Label, right? Here's the link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00OGYUTXO/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B00OGYUTXO&linkCode=as2&tag=theoffici075f-20&linkId=B6TOHKF7CTC6O4SV

Nashy
It leaked a couple of days ago, what do you guys think? I like it, but the very 80's synth is a turnoff for me personally and makes certain tracks (Enter Sylvia Path) unbearable. Favorites so far are Nobodies Empire, Allie, The Everlasting Muse, and The Book of You.

Have pre ordered the 4 LP box.
RedAndBlue
This is the first time I'm not really feeling a Belle and Sebastian album, which is a weird concept for me to grasp.
agd
I found this to be one of their weakest releases. "Enter Silvia Plath" is unlistenable. Really glad i did not pull the trigger on this one.

Nashy
I think I rate it equal with Dear Catastrophe Waitress so far. It can only improve with time, though.
