Family Friendly Rap God
My GF is a big fan of disaster movies (good and bad). So for her birthday, I'm going to buy as many as I can and give her a huge basket full of them and get tickets to see San Andreas. This is what I currently have The Day After Tomorrow 2012 Apollo 13 Titanic Armageddon Deep Impact Contagion Gravity Dante's Peak Volcano Into The Storm Battle: Los Angeles Pacific Rim I Am Legend Skyline Poseidon Anybody have any other recommendations? HybridxReality
At least, I think it was more about alien takeover. Shit, I have to buy that movie now. I completely forgot that existed.

maneatingcow
My favorite genres of movies are disaster and distopian future movies, so this is actually a topic I can add something to. Omega Man - When I saw I am Legend I was sure that it was a loose remake of this Heston movie. Towering Inferno and Posiedon Adventure - A couple of gems from the late 70 or early 80s. Backdraft and Firestorm - Not your typical global armagedon movies, but are damn good. Been meaning to watch the Airport movies. Just never got around to doing it, but I know it's thought of as the father of all disaster movies. The Core is also a must have for disaster movie buffs. Not because it's good, but because it's so bad it's good. Couple more Heston flicks worth mentioning - Skyjacked and Earthquake. Then there is Solar Crisis which is just another one of those so bad it's good movies. There's also one of my favorite movies of all time Soylent Green, but that is more of a distopian future movie. Really anything Heston is great.

xadamhudsonx
It's A Disaster (David Cross and Julia Styles) -Bunch of couples meet for Sunday Brunch and get stuck in the apt together as the world ends. Different take on a distaster movie for sure. Planet of the Apes/Dawn of the Planet of the ApesGodzilla Reign of Fire (personal favorite and more dystopian future, but great popcorn action flick) 2012 Into The Storm Atomic Twister The Tower
Family Friendly Rap God
It's a Disaster sounds promising. Is it more comedy?
xadamhudsonx
It's a Disaster sounds promising. Is it more comedy? Very much so. Less disaster and more how people in that position would react trapped together like that in a comedic way.
