flood
i dont like EC at all.. but those dudes were hugely influential on aggressive music, especially in the northeast... where do you think all the brutal chugga chugga metalcore from around here came from. makehitturt
not from Earth Crisis that's for sure.
kurtz
Earth Crisis was one of the biggest trend setters for hardcore in the 90's. I don't know if I would put them in the top 23 all time, but I can see how someone could make a case for them. You can't deny their impact on the hardcore scene. sgoodcore
I think more to the point this whole "the most influential blah blah blah" has been beaten to death, resurrected, beaten some more and thrown back wet. Its so subjective its not even worth writing about in terms of a definable list of bands in any kind of order. Its just silly.

You're totally right, and we address that in the introduction to the piece. Also, the bands aren't ranked from 1 to 23 or anything; there's just 23 bands total. Okay, fair enough then, I can get behind the piece if its just 23 bands who had a bigger impact than they're given credit. That's a cool piece. It makes more sense lesser known or acknowledge or more niche bands would be a part of it

It makes more sense lesser known or acknowledge or more niche bands would be a part of it There's definitely some bigger-name bands in the special but we tried to avoid the ultra-obvious ones (i.e. the Clash, Ramones, Sex Pistols, Dead Kennedys, Misfits, Green Day, etc.) and included ones that, I'd bet, 99% of our readers have never even heard their name mentioned before (Moss Icon, anyone?).
