sgoodcore
they before the end of the year but right now you'd be trading for rights that are worthless and the guy isn't going to play a game for you
kirbypuckett
Who in their right mind who trade away anything for a guy they can sign for nothing who's guaranteed to try free agency? It's been happening more frequently these days.
sgoodcore
Stoked on the draft. Kings drafted 3 defenseman in the top 30 (or so, top 32 to be exact). Colton (gotta love that name) Teubert has some good size, 6'4" and Doughty looks like he's the real deal losing that weight and getting with a NHL-caliber trainer. That and he loved the Kings as a kid so how could that be bad. Dean deserves a nice pat on the back.
Snaggle Von Swift
Flyers picked up two defensemen that should be good over the next few years (Eminger & Niskala) and appear to be very close to re-signing Jeff Carter. And picking up two more defensemen in the draft (Sbisa & Bourdon). Only thing that's somewhat worrying me. Smith is basically gone, i'd like them to make some moves on defense for this upcoming season, rather than planning so much for the future. (although it's obviously good)
andrew13
Carcillo will be a RFA. i'd love to see him back in pgh playing on the top 2 lines as a winger. he'd be a perfect malone replacement.

Until the dude can prove he can stop taking dumb penalties, no true Cup contender will take him.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Roberts is gone, but that was a given. I don't care anymore about who stays/leaves the pens because I love watching Crosby and Fluery and Malkin and I know those 3 will be staying put for the next 5+ years. Glad to be RJ Umberger traded to Columbus, won't have to worry about him lighting up Fluery more than one game next season... Columbus is still going to suck. sgoodcore
I think Columbus is going to trade Zherdev, or try to.
andrew13
i don't care if carcy does take dumb penalties. he's a legit star IMO. i watched him play at WBS for 2 years and loved the kid. he plays with more fire in him than anyone i've ever seen. plus he has a huge offensive upside. thesack18
so it was my birthday yesterday, and my girlfriend took my to my first hockey game it was awesome. so much fun. i loved it. sure, it was only a small game in our tiny national league, but it was great. a crowd of probably 100 or so. not sure really. but i cant wait to see more of it today i got a red wings championship jersey. now im not really a red wings fan, but its still cool i guess. i dont follow any particular team. i just enjoy the sport. i hope to be seeing more of it as life goes on anyone know of any good books to help me learn more about the game? thrillho
I have a book called "The Great Book of Hockey" and it has an amazing history of the game up to around the mid-80's. http://www.amazon.com/Great-Book-Hockey-Stanley-Fishler/dp/0881769223
gravitylovesdrunks
toronto needs to get a decent free agent on tuesday & the days that follow. there are some big tickets, but we really need at least one guy that'll add some depth/leadership to the team. andrew13
we got something out of nothing for scary gary and maljoke. so i'm liking the pens blog's idea of JJ and Naslund for the price of hossa. that'd the 2 right wingers who can finish to go with sid and geno on the first 2 lines. JJ needs to regrow the mullet though.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Saw on ESPN, 7 years, 31 mil. yeah I saw that this morning. good for him, his dad is the head scout there too, so I am sure that sweetened the deal... his dad is probably one of the best scouts out there... TB will be a team to contend in the next year or two...
kirbypuckett
The only thing that held Tampa back was their goal tending and that guy they snagged from Dallas pretty much ended that. They're going to be a huge threat, especially if Stamkos is all he's hyped to be.
andrew13
wow tampa is totally fucking retarded on that deal. maljoke is making $8 million next season. sid is making 8.7 million. malone is nowhere near 92% the player sid is. he's not even 25% of sid.
kirbypuckett
That's what I was thinking. Like great for Malone, but is Tampa out of their mind? 5 million is over paying Malone. They're going to screw themselves over again.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
the day is here... time to see what all happens! if we lose everyone im still stoked on the Pens because our minors team is stacked with quality players that we can fill in the holes left... i mean we still have Malkin, Crosby, Fluery, Gonchar, Talbot, Staal, etc. Pens are going to be insane next season
