Without giving you actual numbers (which are none of your business), this LP cost me approximately 4x as much as a normal single LP release. Once the band is given their copies, I divide my cost by 850 rather than 1000 to get the actual cost per piece - then add about 3.00 to mail it, .70 for the mailer and around 1.25 for paypal fees and what does that give you? A little better than breaking even (another reason these weren't made available to stores and distros). The label is making the least money of anyone in this deal. To answer the initial question in this post, I've been busy. I'm getting the last of the orders out, working on the next round of releases and I took a few days to go to Indiana for Dudefest. I think I've gotten back to everyone, but if I've missed you drop me a PM or an email. Also, anyone outside the states who is waiting on an order, feel free to PM to see if yours has shipped. Thanks!! yeah...this is the reality of running a label that no one ever thinks about. everyone thinks...oh yeah but they got all these orders....when it's over $3 to mail a single lp on postage alone...not including the mailers that aren't free, the paypal fees that cripple the profit margin...the postage alone eats up a 1/3rd or a 1/4 of the money you bring in... I feel your pain Pat...though I can't imagine the headache of doing that many mailorders...I nearly lost it with the Methadones pre-orders that I got in.
