hardrockzombies
Pop I guess. I use both now, but a few years ago I would argue endlessly that it was always pop.
kurtmanner
I always have and will say soda. It just sounds sooo weird when I hear people say pop. I don't make them feel weird for it or anything, I just don't think it's all that common to say pop in Connecticut, though I know people who do. Guest genericinsight
Soda For the regional differences, this could get interesting...
swank
I think this is very much a regional thing. I guess I have to roll with "Pop" on this one, although generally I just call it by whatever flavor or type it is. (ie. "Pass the Sprite"). This "Coke" thing is news to me. I can understand perhaps calling every Cola "Coke", because it's sort of like Kleenex, Rollerblades or Band-aids (not tissues, inline skates or adhesive bandages). For example, at the bar you don't hear anyone going "Rum n' Pepsi, please". But do people in Texas call every carbonated drink "Coke"? Would someone point at your 2 litre of Mountain Dew and say "I'm parched. I'm going to nab some of your coke, guy." Thats all kinds of wrong! thomas
It is really only called pop in a few states, the rest seems to be soda. Soda-pop is dumb, since it is redundant.
