anyone else so frustrated with Myspace....

...that you're using the mobile myspace site instead of the real site?

the real site is soooo slow loading and lags like fucking crazy. the new drop down menus keep fucking up and all the commercials/banner ads that slow the pages down drive me crazy.

the mobile version is stripped down and super easy to use...it's not without faults but it's a lot faster to use.

It's nothing new, but what bugs me about Facebook is the million and a half "take this survey" or "here's a picture, download this app to use it" invites. I logged in yesterday, and in like a month, I got close to 100 "invites" to like 60 different apps. Annoying. (I'm sure these can be blocked - anyone know how?)

I don't care for either Facebook, really. I like everything being on one page, though. Not too keen on tabs. (But I never really used Facebook before, so...)

But yes, on topic, the Myspace ads suck. I wish these sites would just keep it simple.

All my friends hate the new Facebook. I like it way better. Adam, when you get an application invite you can choose to block all invites to that application or my personal favorite, block all app invites from the user who sent it. Once I did this, I found that it was only about 5 people who were sending me all these invites.

hah, seriously! i've gotten tons of invites from the weird girl from high school that everyone made fun of because she danced funny. why i'm her friend, i dont know. out of courtesy?

i have a friend on myspace that i know through going to concerts and stuff, and she updates her myspace status like every 4 hours, lots of times it's the same thing for about a week. but it irritates the shit out of me. and she posts a billion bulletins with lyrics from the same songs.

I have never signed up nor even checked out facebook before, but I keep getting things in my e mail somehow, that so and so has invited me to be their friend on facebook?

I would think it was just spam, but usually it's people I actually went to school with or something.

Is facebook cool? like worth having an account?

You can block the Facebook app stuff. It's not that hard -- I don't get any of that stuff anymore. I also like the new layout.

Myspace, eh, it is what it is. If more of my friends used Facebook I wouldn't need Myspace, but most people use that so I stick around. The bulletins are handy too.

BLOCK ADS PEOPLE! Even if you just do it for a select few websites (so that places like VC get the ad-revenue. It makes a HUGE difference in the speed on websites like Myspace and Facebook who's sole purpose is to sell you stuff.

i only created one because I wanted to make a label page like the ucr myspace only to find out that essentially you can't do that and they don't really have band pages...or at least I couldn't figure out how to make one...

I have both...and I'm equally annoyed at them. The apps that each carry are killing me. Moreso on Facebook than on Myspace.

I have been finding though that the new Facebook is harder to navigate and not as user-friendly as it used to be. Or maybe I'm just old...

I did recently add a singles dating app to my Myspace though. Just for shits and giggles I guess. ;)

And yeah, my internet teacher hates myspace because of all the stupid "convenient" shit they do

you have an internet teacher? yikes. i'm self-taught.

also, the new facebook is equally as good/bad as the old one, myspace is and always has been the worst website ever, and sites with that many ads are the opposite of helpful.

I stopped using MySpace a long time ago. It's garbage. I have no problem with Facebook. I actually like the new look a lot more than the old look because I don't have to sift through applications when I'm reading others'. It took getting used to, yeah, but it's really not that bad.

I agree w/ Jeff. Myspace is an advertising wasteland. and it doesn't help that porn sites make those fake profiles that try and add you..."hey baby, I'm knew in town and need to meet some new people" gimme a freakin' break...stupid.

/rant.
