suburbanargyle
Has anyone ever thought to make a stickied record store list? That way, if someone is gonna be in a new place they can either check the list that people contribute to, or post questions in that thread. It could be formatted by date and city, for example... Texas Austin Waterloo Records 600A North Lamar www.waterloorecords.com Sound On Sound 106 E. North Loop Blvd. www.soundonsoundrecords.com San Antonio Hogwild Records 1824 N. Main Ave. www.myspace.com/hogwildrecords

adamlikesmusic
I've suggested the idea whenever I see a "hey, i'll be in missouri next week..." thread, but nobody ever seemed to go along with it.
thomas
Dead Format is doing this as well, and they will have user reviews and stuff. Either way a giant list is pretty cool. Edit: J4M35 beat me to it.
burntwolf
i had started one too that someone could pull info from didn't get all that far though. http://burntwolf.com/index.php?title=Category:Stores i had set up a google maps api key and had planned to add google map info to each one. that new google street level view thing would be cool probably. i don't think you need an api key anymore to do google map stuff either. deadformat
DF will have this launched in probably 2 weeks.. I was hoping to get it out this week but I'm going on tour tomorrow so there's a slight delay. I will also have someone hopefully soon working on an iPhone app that uses the location-aware technology to locate stores nearby. It'll be killer. Duff
if a list is made here someone definitely needs to head up the thread and edit the first post. that way people dont have to go hunting through a thread that will have a ton of pages looking for where theyre gonna be. organize is alphabetically by state. deadformat
Just FYI, the database on DF currently has over 150 stores with over 200 locations across the US so far. The best part about the DB is being able to do this: Searching for record stores near los angeles ca within 100 miles: Amoeba Music 6400 Sunset Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90018 (approx 5.71 miles away) Bionic Records (2 Locations) 9549 Valley View Cypress, CA 90630 (approx 20.15 miles away) 2466 Chapman Fullerton, CA 92631 (approx 23.93 miles away)
