travis
Shit, Miami is rumored to get a lot of amazing players. If they get a just a couple of those guys along with D-Wade they will be a powerhouse in the East.
mattisr1984
just waiting for the dirk to phx rumors to start heating up, if they havent alreay. dont ultimately think itll make much of a difference for the suns but i think its rather obvious that dirk isnt going to accomplish shit in dallas and i cant see nash playing out the last of his best years on a team that'll more or less be in rebuilding mode. thesupervillain
Lebron to the Clippers? I would love to see that.
zac
It's looking like Memphis will try to take Paul George at #12 then trade their #25 & #28 for Minnesota's #16 and then Memphis will take Eric Bledsoe. If both of those happen I will lose my mind.
franco
i am missing the draft tonight but i get to see the melvins play 2 sets instead. detroit basketball
kurtz
Can't wait to see Wall in a Washington jersey! He certainly seems like more of a sure thing than the Wizards last #1 overall pick.
zac
So the draft didn't go exactly how I planned but I am stoked on the Grizzlies two pickups in Xavier Henry and Greivis Vasquez and the extra money they got from the Mavs for the guy they picked and traded at #25. That money should go towards keeping Rudy Gay. Also tonight at FedEx Forum, I was really stoked to walk in and see OJ Mayo in the practice gym working on his game even in the off season. Everyone watching him from far off said that's why they love him, because he never stops trying to get better.
zac
EPSN radio just said Brad Miller is going to the Celtics. He'll be the replacement for Rasheed, which I think is a good pick up. Also how does everyone else feel the draft went, especially for "your" team?
Japes
Not really an overall description on how I felt about the draft, haha. But, I'm proud of all the Kentucky players getting drafted in the first round.
kurtz
I can't wait for this free agency to get started! It's absolutely unreal how many all star and superstar players are out there. I'm so excited to see this play out! Too bad Washington seems content just picking up all the other teams unwanted contracts.
zac
Today has gotten pretty wild already. Doc Rivers is returning Pierce, Nowitzki, and Salmons all opted out to test Free Agency Just saw on ESPN that the Nuggets said they're open to trade Carmelo if he won't sign an extension. kurtz
Man, I didn't hear that about Pierce, Salmons and Melo. I'd be a little bummed if Pierce goes somewhere else. He's one of the few players in the league that I can't imagine in a different jersey.
thesupervillain
I don't think Pierce will go somewhere else, I just think he wants more years. I know he is eligible for 4 years and 93 mil, but I'd bet he'll resign with Boston for the same he was getting this year, or maybe even less if he gets the whole 4 years. zac
Memphis resigned Rudy. I'm so excited about next year.
zac
Would anyone be interested in watching a documentary thing done on the Grizzlies this past season? I'm ripping it right now for my friend and I'm going to upload it later. I enjoy stuff like that even if it's not a team I'm necessarily a fan of. danthemjfan23
i would probably watch it if it was well done and told me things/gave me insights that ESPN couldn't give me about the team.
travis
Phil is coming back next year! Woohoo!
zac
i would probably watch it if it was well done and told me things/gave me insights that ESPN couldn't give me about the team. Yeah it's well done. It was made for FoxSportsTennessee and just kind of shows the chemistry of the team and how they improved from last year to this year and has a good amount of player interviews and ESPN doesn't cover the Grizzlies too much anyway. kurtz
I didn't think Rudy Gay would be a max contract player. Is he really worth it? I honestly don't know if I've even watched him play at all as a pro. Can't remember the last time I watched a Grizzlies game.
zac
I didn't think Rudy Gay would be a max contract player. Is he really worth it? I honestly don't know if I've even watched him play at all as a pro. Can't remember the last time I watched a Grizzlies game. I don't know if most other teams would consider him like that but Memphis does. They have gone so long with a bad team and bad fan base because they refuse to spend money on players so they were kind of forced into keeping Rudy, which I am completely fine with by the way. I probably watched close to 70 of the Grizzlies games last year and I can't imagine Rudy not being there. The Grizzlies are built to where any person can blow up and take over on any given night or they will just have really balanced scoring (think the current Celtics). The only problem last season was the bench lacking depth and the decent players were hurt. Rudy needs to step up his defense some but his explosiveness helps bring the place alive. zac
I was going to do this as all one video but it was too huge and the sites wouldn't let me upload it like that. It was a half hour when it was on tv but no commercials are on these.
kurtz
Nothing too exciting yet in this free agency. Gay, Pierce, Dirk and Johnson are all staying put. Looks like Amare is going to NY. The Lakers signed Steve Blake. That's a great pick up for them. I wonder if he will start in front of Fisher? I'd rather have Fisher taking shots in the playoffs, but I think Blake is a better overall PG.
travis
Hmmm....didnt know the Lakers signed anyone and I havent heard of Steve Blake. Ill have to check this guy out. Yea sounds like Amare is going to NY, and they think there is a chance Carmello and LeBron could end up there now too. If LeBron and one or two other big names sign with the same team together, its gonna be very scary.
Japes
Amare went to NY, everyone was right. Haha.
