daniel
I saw the Underoath box set in Hot Topic today for $79.99, and decided against it until I realized I had a 15% of buyers card. Got it for just about $73. It was completely unnecessary and totally not worth it but I'm glad I bought it.
Snaggle Von Swift
I do this way too often.
zac
I do this too but not anything like that. Although I'm sure I would if I had a job and it wasn't Underoath.
enjoyadrian
I've done this once with a jens lekman record, and it turned out good.
daniel
I don't know if mine really counts because I'm a big Underoath fan and have heard the record many, many times, I just never considered spending so much money on it until I held it. blanketbyday
impulse buys were the death of me for a while...ive recently learned to consider the records i buy so that when one i actually want comes along i don't resent the impulse buy that prevented me from buying it. adamlikesmusic
I bought Squirtgun's "Jingle Bell Rock" 7" from Interpunk sort of spur-of-the-moment. Luckily it was only $0.25 so nothing major. Plus I like Squirtgun, just didn't really need the 7".
Guest smccown13
If you want to count putting records before other important things as an impulse purchase...pretty much everything as of late is one.. My probation officer is pissed. Otherwise, I bought nwa's "Straight Outta Compton" at Hot topic instead of the new shirt I was planning on getting. kurtz
I make impulse buys all the time. Something that costs $73 would never be an impulse buy for me though. I don't have enough money to make impulse purchases like that.
steviewonderbread
I saw that deluxe record two nights ago in a shop, except it was listed for $90. Fuck that.
mattisr1984
im not really an impulse buyer but ive spent so much fucking money this month that its making 2nd guess every purchase i make.
voodooramen
I'm pretty sure my last purchase was my final impulse as well as regular buy of the year, which was the jealous sound release. I am too broke to do it too often, so I don't, but this HAS to be it. I might end up selling a couple things now actually. I never have regretted an impulse buy though, because I have either resold them for profit or got what I paid, or I end up liking it enough to keep. OR if it was dirt cheap in the first place. I don't get 15 records at a time, ever, though.
steveooo
I do this all the time. I go into Tempest where Richspeedowax works thinking I might pick up an album and leave with about 3 or 4.

minty
I make quite a few impulse buys when it comes to vinyl, I find it strangely exciting. Some have been great, some not so great...
melikecheese
Yeah, it never fails that I go to the record stores and have one or two things in mind, then I end up seeing some singles, then a few other LPs end up in my hands, and rarely do I actually find the ones I was looking for. steviewonderbread
Impulse purchases have been some of the best experiences of my life (Cap'n Jazz -schmap'n schmazz LP, Braid boxset). It's the stuff I've put back that haunts me, regrettably Your Favorite Weapon, has a gambling problem, and Tell All Your Friends in a Hot Topic in Clackamas sometime between summer '02 and my freshman fall quarter. I didn't get back to the store until winter break and of course they were gone. That and all the transatlanticisms I passed up with other stuff in my hands. machiel
I sometimes do this on ebay when I'm bored, just search for items that end soon and buy it for cheap. Sometimes I end up with buying something I allready have, sometimes it's really good!
