xgrantx
Hey guys, If you have extra copies of a record, do you take the shrinkwrap off of all of them? I have read that shrinkwrap can contract more and warp a record. I have also heard that the record may already be warped due to the shrinkwrap process. I dunno if I should unwrap all of my still sealed records or leave them sealed. They are inside and safely stored so I don't know if I would have to worry about the shrinkwrap contracting more. Let me know what you think. Grant
danalive
i think if they are inside at a normal temperature they should be fine.

mcm1610
I opened a record a few days ago that was shrink-wrapped and a bit warped. I can't remember which one it was, off the top of my head, but it still played. I'm a little bummed, but hey, if the music still comes out... thomas
I take it off, because sometimes I get a bit of extra humidity in my room and it can warp the jacket. I just buy plastic sleeves, they are cheap, and protect 100 times better.
xgrantx
yeah, i opened my propagandhi potemkin city limits and it was slightly warped. i don't know if it was the shrinkwrap or the big ass book that is packed with the records. Guest abravemorning
I've never heard of warping issues with shrinkwrap, but I have had problems with the seams being split in shipping with records still wrapped. I also prefer plastic sleeves.
706union
shrinkwraps don´t warp records....heat does...what shrinks can do if they are too tight is to bend the sleeve...i´d take those ones off....keep the rest shrinked...it will drive up the price of a record... patron
I usually just slit the shrink wrap down the side and then put it in a plastic sleeve.
