daniel
So I noticed Hot Topic has Black Sails In The Sunset and The Art of Drowning on vinyl online. I called my local store and the have them too, but they don't know if they're represses or anything like that. Anyone know what color these are? I'm going to buy one of each regardless, I'm just curious if there are multiple variants or if they're all black.

daniel
I know they are old, which is why I put it in parenthesis. They're new to Hot Topic.
thedavidescapeplan
I'd imagine it to be some type of color variant because most of the Nitro stuff is on color.
scottheisel
Yeah, these aren't rare at all, are they?
scotterson
i dont think so, im pretty sure they have been readily available forever. hot topic probably just started stocking them. there are rarer colors, but i dont think they ever went out of print. i also could be very wrong. trainreck
i actually just bought a copy of each of these last night at hot topic but they were for my mom to give me for christmas (easier than making her a list of stuff that she probably wouldn't find) i could post on christmas what color they are if you havent gotten them yet

theambulancereview
I just picked up "Black Sails" at the HT a couple of weeks ago. I didn't get "Art of Drowning" because I had a copy from about 5 or 6 years ago. Here's what "Black Sails" at HT looks like:

splinter
I got Against Me-Reinventing Axl Rose last night at Hot Topic. It wasn't as good as ive heard but maybe I have to give it more listens. They had a ton of good records though Minor Threat, Scream, Dillinger Four, Gaslight Anthem, They even had the Tim Barry Solo LP. They even had the 80s punk thrash band Stormtroopers of Death. I wonder how they decide what the store orders because the employees are clueless to the records it seems like.
slinch
With these it's like this: First they pressed each album on black (no-one knows how many copies, but I wouldn't say way more than 500). After that they put each one on one or more colors and put a sticker on the front saying exactly what color it is. Those are limited to 300-500 (the exact number is on most of those stickers). After that they just started repressing them on random colors whenever they run out of the lot (the word is they press 300 at a time). So there's 300 copies of each color, but infinite number of colors. (however it seems like some colors are used more often since grey copies of all albums show up on ebay every few weeks, and some of the colors I've seen only once or twice in the nearly 3 years of collecting). adambomb
the first pressings on black were out of a shitload . The first few lps were out for years before they got the color treatment
slinch
I have no idea, I was only guessing on blacks, but I don't see an album like Very Proud Of Ya selling thousands of copies on vinyl...

travis
Havent seen the colors of these yet, except for the pic someone posted in this thread. They might be a new color or the same as another color already pressed but this is a new pressing of these 2 records
