Eh, I see where you're coming from, but for the most part I think it's pretty easy to compare a record after a listen or two -- it is all personal preference. Your point holds some weight though, I hated the latest Shins album the first few times I heard it, but now I love it. Truthfully, without even hearing it, I would be amazed if I'm not let down. This band totally screwed themselves putting out full collapse. Every single album after that just sounded like garbage compared to it. FC is like one of the best albums I've ever heard in their genre, maybe THE best. And man did that just fuck them wow.
