Guest scriptedrain
E-mailed Josh at Sonic Boom. awaiting a reply. I hope you have better luck asking him pressing questions than I have. The only thing I found out talking to him is that my transparent blue is a mispress because all the blue were supposed to be marble.
monk0nuggets
I still haven't gotten my copy. My credit statement says he's got my money though.
counterfiction
From Jason at Sonic Boom: Yes. This is a repress from about a year ago. Same plant/plates etc. though. When I ended my distribution deal with RED they found a box and returned it. There are some coming from Universal as well.

counterfiction
Universal is releasing "Transatlanticism" vinyl, too? WTF? no, it's the distribution arm of Universal. basically they're all from the OOP second press, just distributor returns.
matt
i was trying to say in another thread that these were second press copies but it either got overlooked or something. most of the "found" boxes as of late have been distributor returns. nothing too crazy. vinyl doesnt sell well in most stores and so many labels have changed distro deals as of late so thats why this has become a recent trend. dante3000
Can someone explain the difference or take a picture? I just looked at my spine and (top to bottom) it's: Dog logo Bark 32, Death Cab For Cutie Transatlanticism, Sonic Boom SBR 012.
riddle350
So I just got mine in the mail and it has the dog logo on the top of the spine. Is this this first or second press?
xxmartinxx
I have a copy I bought when it originally came out (I think?) and one of the new Sonic Boom copies. Both have the same spine printing. Little dog at the top. There is a difference in the color of the cover. The older copy has a much more brown color, the new one looks washed out and yellower. monk0nuggets
Also, as I had thought before, the German pressing of this has full color inner sleeves with no insert, but the Sonic Boom pressing has plain white sleeves with a full color insert. Maybe both mine are the second press, however I know I've owned it for a few years. Post a pic of what you're talking about. I'm sure lots of people would love to see it. scottheisel
Seriously, this thread's kind of useless without photos, since some people are seeing a variation and some aren't.

mcm1610
For what it's worth, the copy of Trans.. I've had for a while now has no dog on the spine.
xxmartinxx
To reiterate, but of my copies (one I got a few years ago, one I got a few weeks ago) have a dog on the spine, but there at the top (if standing book style), not the bottom. However, when placed side by side, the lettering on them do not line up. I'd really like to see a pic of the dog at the bottom of the spine versus the non-dog spine. PIXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX! mcm1610
I have no dog anywhere on the spine, but it's on the lower left hand corner of the back.

xxmartinxx
Fucking weird! Does your other copy have the dog at the top of the spine? Did you notice a coloration difference between them?
jhulud
The one I just got is like the one on the right in that pic. The dog logo is at the top of the spine.
