lokithelion
I got used copies of sleepy hollow, michael clayton, and the Descent, and new copies of Planet Earth and The Adventures of Robin Hood from 1938 (which is my favorite movie ever). Are there any other blu ray discs that look awesome, and are correspondingly also awesome movies? I'm on the look out for a used 2001, but otherwise i'm kind of curious. akross
I like this site for BD reviews: http://www.highdefdigest.com/ This is the thread in the forum that rates discs by tier: http://forums.highdefdigest.com/blu-ray-software-general-discussion/81007-new-tier-system-blu-ray.html Pretty much anything Pixar is golden. I know Zodiac looks great (filmed entirely with high-def camera) and I hear awesome things about the quality of I Robot too. Don't know if those are in your realm of "awesome movies" but at the very least the site should help some...
lokithelion
I've read that site and its been helpful. Their review of the robin hood got me so fucking stoked.

AsleepOnRocks
The Blu Ray edition of Akira is fantastic. The movie looks amazing, but the job they did on the sound is brain-liquifyingly awesome.
nefariousfig
Bottle Rocket (Criterion Collection) It's Criterion, so it'll obviously be more expensive than your average Blu-Ray, but it also means that it will look amazing and have a ton of special features. Not to mention the fact that the film itself is great.
lydiawesome
PPPPOOOOORRRNNNNNNNN HAHAHA Nicole is amazing. Porn indeed, but I also stand behind my recommendation of Planet Earth, but the BBC one, not with Sigourney Weaver.

whateverrrr
PPPPOOOOORRRNNNNNNNN HAHAHA Nicole is amazing. Porn indeed, but I also stand behind my recommendation of Planet Earth, but the BBC one, not with Sigourney Weaver. you beat me to it. Planet Earth with David Attenborough or whatever his English last name is, is the shit. That is what made me realize why Blue Ray is amazing. I don't have one yet though
riddle350
DUDE! Band of Brothers. GO! Wall-E is hands down the best looking/sounding blu ray that I have seen. Shit blu(see what I did there) me away. Even better than the theater.
dynamitekid
I agree with wall-e. I don't really like the movie but when I first watched it, I was stunned.
divaface
Planet Earth, The Universe series, When We Left Earth, and other space/earth documentary dvds, they just look so awesome.... Wall-E, Batman Begins and the Dark Knight, Iron Man. That's pretty much my bluray collection as of right now.
forgeagain
For some reason the Fifth Element is completely devoid of special features. Great movie though. And it's real cheap.
enjoyadrian
my blu ray collection is weak. it's mostly movies my girlfriend likes: twilight becoming jane bbc pride and prejudice mad men season 1 beerfest hairspray cars and then the ones i like: dark knight iron man i really need to step up the manly side of the collection. akross
Amazon loves putting Band of Brothers up as their deal of the day. I got the BD version for $35 a few months ago.
scotterson
i just picked up: wall e (looks amazing, as noted, but also the 2 shorts are great...especially presto" batman begins deluxe set dark knight iron man tropic thunder no country for old men deluxe all for less than up to $1 more than the dvd's were. pretty awesome. except for the fact that the HDMI sound didnt work on my player, so im watching through component cables while waiting for a replacement from amazon, but it still looks fantastic
roadmonkey
besides the ones mentioned already, I'd say Pan's Labryinth, Hellboy, and Hellboy II... or really any Guillermo del Toro movie
dynamitekid
also, transformers.
crime
sunshineamazon has a bunch of buy 2 get 1 free sales, free shipping over $25 http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/ref=amb_link_84125111_1?ie=UTF8&plgroup=1&docId=1000361971&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=special-offers-1&pf_rd_r=10TTF4P338J5AXFDS297&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_p=473773791&pf_rd_i=B001EOQCL2 you can also get weeds... the 1st 3 seasons for $44 such a horrible movie but watching it on blu ray was amazing. i'll back transformers, dark knight, hell boy 2, pan's labrynth, ironman. you can't go wrong with cartoons either. cars, bolt and bee movie all looked amazing. also try to steer clear of older movies that are selling for really cheap. i've found that they really aren't that impressive to watch because the studio cheaps out on the conversion. kirbs84
besides the ones mentioned already, I'd say Pan's Labryinth, Hellboy, and Hellboy II... or really any Guillermo del Toro movie +1 His movies have some of the best sound and picture available on bluray IMO. Also, The Orphanage.
