timwt
and they're slightly warped. They seem to play fine, but ugh. Is there a certain way I should store them right now? They're all mostly in the boxes right now. I'm definitely switching to Bill Smith next time.
xjustinxschwierx
not all records come 100% perfectly straight...but as long as they play you're fine. getting 500 records from United that don't play because they're so warped...now that's another story. melvinscam
yeah, some of mine were like that, mostly the ones in the box that had only 20 records in it. but they all ended up playing fine.

matt
how much of this happens from shipping? i'd be pisssssssed. This is a huge reason why I'm so stoked to have 3 plants pretty local to me. Being able to pick up/drop off orders is probably the best thing I have going.
timwt
So far they're playable, and I know that records aren't 100% straight, but I just want to present my product better than this. At least they play though.
matt
I'm definitely switching to Bill Smith next time. Love these dudes. While I don't have experience with other plants I can't complain about the product and service I get from Dennis and Kevin.

lostatsea
If I paid good money for something I was going to sell to people I would want it to be right. I know I am bummed when I buy records that are warped.
forgeagain
They get warped in shipping, not at the plant. For some reason every record plant ships records stacked rather than side-by-side so this happens a lot with EVERY plant. On the bright side once you pack them tightly and rebox them or mail em or whatever they should flatten out a bit.

numanoid
United is crap. Their plating is shit, their records are warped or off center quite frequently, and they have a lot of surface noise. What a shitty plant.

thischarmingham
United is crap. Their plating is shit, their records are warped or off center quite frequently, and they have a lot of surface noise. What a shitty plant. My eight years of experience refutes this. You had something fucked happen. Does not mean the whole place is fucked. What a shitty plant. My eight years of experience refutes this. You had something fucked happen. Does not mean the whole place is fucked. I did have a bad experience, but I also have stacks of 7-inches from other labels to back this up. Brand new records that are warped (very common), or have excessive surface noise (especially on their "trash" color, which is scraps from other pressings). Or my favorite, the off-center pressing. Then there is any combination of the above. They're a discount pressing plant, and there are plenty of people that agree. If you care about quality and how your records sound, you should avoid them. thischarmingham
Once again...my experience has been entirely different and I have never used another plant. I hate their customer service but as far as qualty goes they've always been good by me. I'm not sure off hand but I think I've sent them almost 30 jobs over the last 8 years. 7"s and LP's
